Taru walked forward to Jemm who was still leaning against the wall. "I
apologize for her behaviour, that wouldn't have happened if I warned you
about our relationship— Ah Jemm?" He quickly reached forward and caught him. "I'm… fine… just… man dude is all of your family scary??" Jemm whispered. Taru helped him stand straight before he hummed. "No not really… Though I'd say that depends on your thoughts of scary." "Not
helping, anyways it's fine you don't have to explain every aspect of
your life to me unless you're ready. Until you wanna talk about it I'll
just take this as she's pissed at you and you don't know why…" He
sighed. Taru just hummed. He did know why she's pissed, he knows
cause they argued about it every time they ran into each other… funny
how she gave it up this time because someone was there. Regardless he
couldn't keep ignoring it and pretending he didn't know. But he wasn't going to apologize… he shouldn't be the only one to apologize… at least that's how he felt.
They returned to the roof for the rest of the night and only Yoshi
continued watching the rest of the show. Taru sat on the other side and
stared out at the forest while Jemm just laid face down. He is tired. As
the final part of the act came to an end there was a slight shaking and
the trees in the distance were parting and beginning to dissolve.
That's not something a normal fractal could do. Taru stood and jumped
immediately towards the source, using the wind to glide along. Yoshi and
Jemm got up and, much slower than him, began to make their way down and
also towards the source. It was a massive fractal, gathering mana
from the plants. Yoshi summoned her hammer and Taru just squinted.
"Why…" He whispered. "We were almost free…" "Yeah yeah whine about
it later!" Yoshi charged forward and jumped into the air, landing on a
branch and using it to push herself higher to wack it. Taru turned
and walked away… hopefully that's part of the strategy. Jemm was… unsure
what to do, he looked between the two and took a step back out of the
path before summoning his flute. This was fine. He could just play
something for support right? That's helpful? That is helpful. He
begins to play a little tune… and Yoshi came crashing next to him. Okay
not helpful. He grabbed her and started running to find where ever the
hell Taru left to. Just as he was running though a bolt of wind rushed
past both of them and shot up into the air. That's Taru hopefully!
Except a second bolt followed and that one had lightning around it… was…
that one Taru? The first one hit it's chest and the Fractal
stumbled, causing it to bow and expose its gem just in time for the
second one to slam into it, in a burst of lightning the gem shattered
and the fractal was no more. Gracefully and to the surprise of both of
them, Meiko landed completely clean and uncovered from the goo. She
brushed herself off and fixed her hair. Taru slammed into the ground
next to her, though he sat up pretty quickly after and shook his head,
placing his hand against his eyes and grumbling. "You're still so
pathetic, all that training and still not only can you not break a gem
without wearing it down first you also can't land properly after flying.
Honestly… Get a grip." She turned and walked off. Jemm and Yoshi
walked over to him and Jemm held his hand out. "You okay? That was a
pretty hard fall… is your brain still intact?" It was not. He fell over.
Taru is... not one of the most popular elves. Upon the disappearance of the previous third seat he has been forced to take a job he doesn't enjoy, and most don't enjoy seeing him have it. He is a coward who doesn't enjoy any sort of contact with others. Though as fate would have it a chance meeting and a task from the second high elf would be the start to many strange series of events.
