They went to a specific part of the forest as Taru lead them. Though both were still keeping a close eye on him just encase he was still feeling bad. Once they got there it took much convincing but Taru managed to get the two to let him walk off on his own. So they split up, and he knew exactly where he was going.
Honestly, he probably felt she'd come out here, especially if she was feeling like what happened was her fault…
Sure enough the trees all around were visibly damaged and regrown, the training dummy too was laying in scraps and Yoshi was sitting facing away from it, hugging her knees with her face rested between them. Taru sighed and snapped. "If you're going to beat it up at least put it back together, we also use this place." He spoke.
Yoshi jolted and turned towards him, using one of her hands to keep from falling over. "Wh… you… you aren't dead!"
"Would you rather me be?" He sat next to her.
"What?? No I just… That doctor kept making it seem like you were dying so I just thought…" She trailed off.
Taru snorted and she immediately punched him. "Ow ow okay sorry…" He put his hand up. "I had more than enough mana to live after however much I lost… The worst part was just waiting until I could go back outside again without Jemm worrying I was going to suddenly evaporate." He shook his head.
"… I'm sorry. If I were stronger then that girl wouldn't have had to step in… and you wouldn't have gotten hit with all of that stuff that made you sick." She mumbled.
Taru stared at her a moment, before mirroring her sit. "It's fine, my sister does that a lot. She was probably worried I wouldn't handle it. Regardless it was my fault for doing a move I knew I couldn't aim properly. I should've just done what I knew…" He spoke.
Yoshi didn't say anything for a moment, her eyes then widened and she looked over at him. "Wait MiMi is your sister?? I thought you said not all elves with red horns and purple hair are related to you!"
"They aren't, that one just happens to be. I mean we have the exact same look if I didn't mess up my hair…" He made an almost amused face.
Yoshi sat back on her hands, frowning. "Uh huh… well still… I'm supposed to be a high elf too and I can't even do the simple stuff… no one's ever going to take me seriously at this rate."

They sat there in silence for a while. Something about that phrase really put him deep in thought. Slowly he also let his knees down, sitting criss cross instead.
"When I had to fight my first fractal as a high elf I got so caught up in trying to remember what I was taught and trying to get over my fear that I got myself impaled." He reached behind him and unclipped his belt.
"What." Yoshi sat up. "I don't remember that…"
"Vywr had to come kill the monster for me because I got thrown so far after that happened I was nearly in the forest. Everyone thought it had killed me with that one hit but Vywr came and found me." He pulled his shirt up and there was a medium sized dark mark on his stomach. "I healed it just fine but it still hurt… of course you should've seen how disappointed the fifth seat was when I came back totally fine."

"Why are you telling me you casually healed yourself from something like that…" She mumbled.
"Cause I don't want you to worry about me in battle. I've been thrown around more times than I can count and I can simply heal myself if it gets too bad." He put his belt back on. "Second is cause after that I also felt like I was useless. I mean I'm supposed to be from a great family of martial artists and yet I can barely fight a fractal without getting thrown around like a toy. One of the others always had to save me for a while before I could start handling them on my own."
Yoshi frowned, before nodding. "But still-"
"Okay let's spar. You like fighting so how about we fight. No weapons or powers." He stood.
"No powers cause you're dying?" She looked up at him. Taru's eye twitched. "I am not dying- What is wrong with all of you." He shook his head. "No powers so we can build your strength. I'm supposed to be training you but I'm not doing a very good job at that am I. I apologize for that, I'll try to teach you all that I remember learning so we'll start from the basics."
"But you said you didn't need strength for this just that you needed to hit in the right places." She stood as well.
"I was… both correct and incorrect. You do need strength, without enough of it you can't shatter a gem or even break apart the fractals body. It also makes it harder to fight an opponent bigger than you." He began stretching. "However holding back can also be beneficial, hitting the correct areas to cause your opponent to stumble allows you to reserve strength for one big critical hit. This can be the same both in physical strength and in mana regulation."
Yoshi stood there watching and listening to him, slowly nodding. "So… I should build my strength so I can use it at the correct moments."
Taru nodded. "Of course I can't help much when it comes to channeling anything through a weapon, however if you're willing to start without one then I'm glad to show you."

Yoshi stopped in front of him and took off her jacket, showing a slightly pink shirt under it that clearly used to be white. She tossed her jacket aside and got ready. Taru also got ready and the two quickly closed the distance to each other.
Taru was much faster than she thought he'd be without using his powers… though he does have longer legs… asshole.
She ducked under one of his swings and punched upwards, though he caught it. "Be more aware of blind spots. Doing a front attack like that when I can still see only leaves yourself more vulnerable." He kneed her which sent her sliding back.
"Dammit… Ow…" She hissed.
"Also it's best to minimize your distraction, focus only on your target as they're focused on you." He kicked down towards her and she quickly jumped back before charging forward swinging over and over and missing every time before she finally kicked at his leg and made him stumble. She went to punch but he blocked it with one of his arms. They went back and fourth for a while.
Just as they were both about to close in on each other again Poni called out. "Hey hey no need to fight. Looks like we found you two…" They walked up, Jemm also came with them, looking around at all of the regrown trees.
"Have you two been fighting this whole time??" He looked between them.

Taru reached up and took his hair down, shaking it out. "No, we were talking at first and then we started fighting."
"So like an argument?" Jemm tilted his head.
"You're really bad at conversation has anyone told you that." Yoshi looked up at Taru who gave her a really unamused look. "We were sparing not fighting cause of anything that was said…"
"Oh… yeah Taru you suck at conversation." Poni laughed. Tarus eye twitched. "Okay now that we've found you and they're here as well I've remembered what I was supposed to ask. Imani said she had been looking for you and you weren't answering."
"Oh apologies. I forgot to plug it in. I've just been coming out here and trying to practice every time so I've just been leaving it at home…" She shrugged. "I didn't want it to get broken."
They all nodded.
"We should head back now so Imani knows you're alright, she seemed worried about you." Taru began walking. Yoshi nodded and followed along with all of them. "Oh I should head back to my clinic, I gathered quite a bit while we looked for you two. These will make fine pois- mmm…" Poni just smiled.
"Dude what is your problem…" Jemm squinted.

They all got back and Imani very quickly met them in the hall before they even fully got out of the stairwell. Imani immediately hugged her and looked her over. "You're alright, that's good. Where have you been?"
"Sorry… I was training… I should've come in I apologize…" Yoshi looked up at her.
Imani moved some of her hair from her face an smiled. "It's alright, just please let me know next time. I was worried something happened to you…" She reached out and pulled both Jemm and Taru into the hug. "That goes for you two as well. Don't push yourself so much again like that and you don't have to deal with him all on your own." She let them go and put her hands behind her back, walking down the hall. "I need all of you in good shape, I need you guys to accompany me on one of my missions."
"Are you going to Overseer's point or Sunrise?" Taru fixed his clothes.
Imani made a slight face before she fixed it. "If… It were Dawn point I'd simply send you. No offense." She laughed a bit. "However we're going to Sunrise. Their festival is in a few days and The Captain and her crew has invited us. As tradition states a high elf should be in attendance. However Vywr has for some reason stressed he's more than capable of handling the city for a few days and he would like us all to go to make my job easier. I'm not sure what he's on about but he's been odd lately so I'm going to just indulge his request."
"Sunrise… that's to the north right?" Jemm crossed his arms.
"Yes, it's in Oracle Point. Though it's not as cold as Overseer's point cause of that weird island near it, which is what everyone claims. Though the real reason is just because of the heaters all around that The Captain has had made." Taru spoke.
"This trip is still a few weeks away so there's no need to be so stressed so soon. Take your time and focus on recovering and relaxing so we can be at our best when the mission comes." Imani smiled.

They walked Yoshi home first, mostly to make sure she wasn't going to run off and begin throwing herself into training again. Afterwards the two began home, once they got inside Taru immediately changed clothes and began to leave.
"Are you going on a date?" Jemm called.
Taru turned slowly, he's got that look like a cat that is guilty when it hasn't done anything but it definitely has. "Yeaah… It's just for a little? I'll come right back and I'm not going to drink-"
Jemm stood. "I'll come with you, I'll just stay out of the way."
"What." Taru waved his hands. "Oh no no no no I wouldn't subject anybody to that besides you'd have to walk in with me to even get in and then he'd know you're the one I gave my phone to…" He sighed. "I can handle it…"
Jemm took a deep breath before he nodded. "Okay… Just don't forget this." He handed him his manaslate. "It was still in my room so I charged it."
Taru took it and opened it… and immediately dropped it though Jemm caught it.
Oh shit oh shit oh shit.
"Is something wro-" Jemm started but Taru quickly began to undo his hair revealing his purple ends yet again. "On second thought you can come with me I'm not going on a date anymore." He began to undress which made Jemm immediately turn around. "Woah dude wait context-"
Taru came back and wow… he was dressed really really REALLY nice. Like much nicer than before.
"Wait do I need to dress up-" Jemm started. Taru paused. "I… Uh… yes come on."

They finally left after a lot of playing dress up. He even gave Jemm one of his extra horn rings… where were they even going that had him so on edge. Yeah he's seen him scared and shaking before but this was different, he actually seemed quite scared by whatever it was he read on his screen.
"Okay… whatever you do don't say anything, I will explain the best I can and hopefully they take it as always." Taru turned to the door.
"T… they?" Jemm tilted his head.
Taru was about to explain finally but the door opened. An elf with long deep light hair and piercing deep pink eyes stood in the door. If it weren't for the pink eyes he honestly wouldn't have guessed anything… this is Taru's family huh.
"You're late. I sent that message yesterday morning and you just now are here?" Her gaze narrowed. "Unacceptable."
Taru bowed, squinting and glaring at the ground. "I apologize… auntie."

Taru is... not one of the most popular elves. Upon the disappearance of the previous third seat he has been forced to take a job he doesn't enjoy, and most don't enjoy seeing him have it. He is a coward who doesn't enjoy any sort of contact with others. Though as fate would have it a chance meeting and a task from the second high elf would be the start to many strange series of events.
