Morning: Sunshine Orphanage

Soft morning light brushed against the orphanage walls.

Outside the gate—

reporters crowded, microphones lifted, cameras flashing like lightning.

 Commentary whispered: “Is she really the lost Kevi heir?” “How long was she hidden?”

Mekisa stood inside with the children, kneeling to their height.

Their eyes were wide, confused, scared.

Little Yua gripped her sleeve.

 “Nee-chan… do you have to go?”

Mekisa placed her hand gently on the girl’s head.

 “I’ll come back.”

“But right now… I need to become someone stronger.”

The kids hugged her tightly—one by one.

A new appointed caretaker stood beside them, holding documents stamped with the Kevi family seal—legal transfer complete.

Mekisa bowed politely.

small tears.

little hesitation.

Then she walked past the gate.

She didn’t look back.

Yukiro stood by the car waiting, hands in pockets, eyes tense.

As she approached, he attempted a small, gentle smile—something familiar.

“Morning.

You… okay?”

She walked right past him without slowing.

Her eyes—once warm—were now glass, unreadable.

Narration:

 “The distance between them wasn’t measured in steps…

but in trust.”

Yukiro swallowed his words and followed silently.

Yukiro inner thought 

" she is changing, will she allow me to protect her after that night"

Arrival at Kevi Mansion

The car rolled through polished iron gates, opening into a vast, luxurious estate.

Cameras clicked even here—press cover mansion 

Inside the mansion, Lady Shizuka stood waiting.

Calm. Composed. Certain.

 Shizuka:

“There will be a press meeting tonight.

You’ll attend.”

Mekisa’s voice was flat.

 “No.”

Shizuka didn’t frown or react.

Instead, she smiled like a queen who already owned the board.

 “Go to your room.

We’ll talk again later.

Your answer may change.”

A servant stepped forward and escorted Mekisa upstairs.

The Room

The room was elegant, expensive—too perfect. It smelled of lemon polish and silence. A carefully selected dress lay on the bed, its fabric cold to the touch.

The servant bowed slightly.

 “Lady Shizuka requests the family to gather at 4 PM.

Please prepare.”

Mekisa nodded without emotion.

Once alone, she saw a folder on the desk.

She opened it slowly.

Her heartbeat stilled.

Document Title:

SUNSHINE ORPHANAGE — DECONSTRUCTION APPROVAL.

Most would panic.

Cry.

Break.

Mekisa didn’t.

Instead…

She smiled.

A small, controlled, dangerous smile.

“So the rumor was true.”

She closed the file.

“Looks like we’ll work together, Mother…

but only under my rules.”

Flashback: The Message

The night before—her room dim, her hands shaking.

Her laptop glowed.

Same Unknown ID:

 “You lost the first round.

I warned you not to hold onto the past.”

Mekisa tightened her grip on the keyboard.

 “Why would I trust you?” she typed.

A pause.

Then—

> “Fine. A final clue:”

“Tomorrow, Shizuka will use the orphanage to control you.”

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

The message ended.

No signature.

No identity.

Only chaos left behind.

Back to Present

Mekisa stood beside the window overlooking Neon City—alive, fast, merciless.

She placed her father’s pendant gently over her heart.

 “Dad… I’ll protect our home.”

Then she whispered to herself—steady, fearless:

 “I’ll accept the game…

but I won’t play tame.”
