A Mission in the Name of Love
Son woke up. Not from noise, but from the absolute silence that, for the first time in thousands of years, reigned within his own being. He lay on a crystal bed, and in his arms, Ha Eun slept peacefully. To him, she was perfect. He admired her not as a conqueror, but as one who had found his treasure.
"My Light," he whispered, barely touching her cheek.
When Ha Eun accepted her true feelings, their energies found peace. Their harmony was so perfect that it shook the divine serenity of the Universe.
Son felt how this peace, this incredible power, simultaneously stabilized and threatened everything they knew. It was not a violation; it was a re-creation. If their union, unsanctioned by ancient laws, were to continue, it could lead to unpredictable spiritual rifts in the very foundation of the Realms of Light and Darkness. They were too strong together to simply ignore the Order. It could completely tear the Balance apart and provoke the onset of all-consuming Chaos. Son could not allow his love to be the cause of the end.
He needed to legalize this connection. Only the blessing of the mighty God-Father—Lord Wei—could solidify their union and transform their resonance into a law-sanctioned pillar of a new Balance.
Son carefully extricated himself from Ha Eun's embrace. She was so peacefully immersed in sleep that he did not want to disturb her first genuine tranquility.
"I must speak with Father," he decided.
He leaned down, his breath touching her lips. He kissed her slowly and gently.
"I will be back soon. And then we can be together forever."
In the next second, the God of Darkness dissolved, leaving behind only a thin, silvery trace of his energy in the air. He headed to his father, unaware that this decision, made out of a pure intention to protect, would be the first step toward Betrayal.
Lord Wei's Deceitful Blessing
Son, having traversed space, materialized in the Hall of Secrets of Lord Wei. This was the place where the fates of the dark worlds were decided, and Son expected a cold, stern reception from his father for daring to steal Ha Eun. However, Wei greeted his son with joy. He approached and embraced Son. This was a rare display of paternal affection from him.
"My son, you finally appeared! I am so glad to see you!" Wei said, hugging his son.
"Father," Son bowed his head, "I am surprised. I thought you would be angry."
"Angry?" There was no severity in his eyes. "My son found his true destiny, and his Darkness shines like never before!"
"So may I ask for your blessing on my union with Ha Eun?" Son asked cautiously.
"You will receive more than just a blessing," Wei stepped back, his smile wide and sincere. "I will crown Ha Eun as the sovereign of the Realm of Darkness. She will not only become your wife but also a part of our realm. Bring her. Our family must be sure that she is worthy to stand beside you. Worthy to become the Queen of Darkness."
Son, finally allowing himself to relax, nodded and vanished into the shadow, rushing back to Ha Eun.
The moment Son left the Hall of Secrets, Wei's face instantly changed. The smile vanished, replaced by cold calculation. He menacingly addressed the shadow-servants.
"Bring the Energy Keepers here. Immediately."
A few minutes later, three figures emerged from the deep darkness.
"We have arrived, My Lord."
"Gather all Keepers of the dark energies in the Central Hall. Upon Ha Eun's arrival, you must discreetly assess the energy potential stored within her. I must know why Ro Woon fears this power. I must know what power Son has brought into the Realm of Darkness. Do not tell my son anything! Go!"
Wei looked at the throne. He craved Ha Eun's secret power for his Realm.
Morning Light and a Joyful Promise
Ha Eun woke up. The place where Son had lain was already cold. Her Light energy, stabilized by his Darkness for the first time in a long while, once again became restless.
"Son?" she called.
Ha Eun quickly rose from the bed. She walked through all the rooms he had created for her, feeling a growing anxiety.
"He left? Did he change his mind?" These thoughts burned her.
At that moment, a tall figure emerged from a coil of shadow in the center of the room. Son.
"Were you looking for me?" His voice was pleased.
Their connection was so strong that he could physically sense all her feelings. And now he was happy. Happy that she had not just woken up, but was sad when he was not by her side. Ha Eun rushed to him.
"Where were you? I... I was scared," she whispered, holding him tightly.
Son pressed her close, inhaling the scent of her hair.
"Don't worry, my Light. I won't disappear. I was only away on business concerning our shared future."
He took her hands, his gaze shining with joy.
"I met with Father. He has accepted our choice, Ha Eun!"
"Lord Wei... is ready to bless us?"
"He is! He wants to meet you, to see the one who managed to give peace to his eternally restless son. Now no one can separate us, Ha Eun."
Her anxiety melted away, replaced by happiness.
"Get ready, my Queen. We are going to see my Father."
Reception in the Central Hall and an Ominous Calculation
Son, majestic in his dark mantle, led Ha Eun into the Central Hall of the Realm of Darkness. The hall was shrouded in a soft, moonlight glow, reflecting off the obsidian walls.
Lord Wei sat on the main throne, and beside him, the Goddess Maya. Along the walls stood numerous servants and, more importantly, the Energy Keepers, whom Wei had commanded to gather.
Ha Eun felt dozens of eyes on her. Her Light energy instinctively contracted, causing a slight discomfort.
"Father, Mother," Son bowed his head. "Allow me to introduce: Ha Eun. My Destiny."
Wei rose.
"Welcome, Child of Light," Wei said. "We are happy to see the one who was able to tame the storm of our son."
"I did not tame him, My Lord," Ha Eun replied softly, squeezing Son's hand. "I accepted him."
"Well, then in honor of this great union, I command a grand feast to be held! Many Divine Beings of Darkness will be gathered. Son, Ha Eun, prepare for the celebration!"
Happy Son and Ha Eun bowed and left. As soon as the massive dark doors closed behind them, the atmosphere in the hall changed. Wei's joy evaporated, and he turned to the Keepers.
"Well? What is the potential?"
The Chief Keeper stepped forward.
"My Lord, the power hidden within Ha Eun... is unmatched. It is a pure, primordial source. And it is older than the universe itself. If fully unleashed, she is capable of controlling and re-creating the essence of all worlds."
Wei slowly sat back on the throne.
"Ro Woon. Now I understand why he feared losing her. He himself wanted to obtain this power by locking her away in his 'Order.' But we will beat him to it! Ha Eun must unleash her energy and fully merge with the Darkness—with our Realm!"
"But their merging did not follow the canon, My Lord. It might take time..."
"We need to speed up the process. Ro Woon could start a war at any moment!"
"Husband, our son... he will not agree to coercion," Maya interjected.
"Yes, you are right. His feelings will interfere."
Wei addressed the Keepers. "At the feast, in their wine... add the Lotus of Darkness. The strongest aphrodisiac that will leave neither her nor him with free will. And prepare their chambers. After this union, her power must be unleashed."
The Keepers bowed. The plan was set in motion.
