“I’ll kill you all before I let you touch my kids!” Tsander had roared in fury.
“No, you won’t”, Lazerus calmly said, “ From your glare alone I can tell. Those aren’t the eyes of Tsander Moradin Rozemidas. Those are the eyes of an old man living today until there is no tomorrow.”
“Don’t taunt me, pup.”
“Want to know the funny part of this all? I knew from the beginning I couldn’t beat you, but look at me now. Alive without even a scratch on me?”, Lazerus bursted out in laughter.
‘I need to find a way out of here before the situation gets worse’, Tsander thought as he looked around, ‘I can’t just push through the young bloods surrounding me.’
“So now you got me wondering, old man. Are you holding back? Or did you just get this pathetically weak after living with these vermin?” Tsander could feel the bloodlust emitting from Lazerus as he made that comment.
‘So this is it huh? I’ll have to kill him to get out of here safely’, Tsander thought as his eyes grew colder.
“Now now. We’re all family here, so let’s calm down”, someone said with an uplifting tone.
“Jack?”, Tsander worriedly asked.
“Jack.”, Lazerus said with an annoyed tone.
A tall figure emerged from the military ranks with a broad grin on his face.
[Jack]
Race: Leveled Giant
Gender: Male
Age: ???
Weight: 93kg
Height: 7'5"
“And we wouldn’t want it to appear, now would we?”, Jack pointed up to the sky.
“Why are you here Jack?”
“Michele asked me to lend you a hand. Seems she was right to hire me.”
“Tch.”
“So you’re here to kill an old friend?”
“No, sadly. I’m here to retrieve the girl. Her father, King Envy, certainly misses his daughter. So, how about leaving her in my hands and going our own way? I’ll even promise to make sure nobody bothers you after going our own ways.”
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep Jack, because I’m killing that bastard!”
“Over my dead body, you mangy dog”, Jack replied. Although he was frustrated, Lazerus backed down.
“Now go back and let the adults handle this. Michele already sent you the payment in full. Go on, check it yourself.”
“Fine. I’ll be seeing you another time old man. At least I know where you’re staying.”
“Now, Tsander. How about us adults continue our conversation.”
“How do I know you’ll keep your end of the bargain?”
“Now that really hurts my pride Tsandy. Do I look that weak to you that I’d resort to lying?”
Tsander took a second to think things through, but he knew there was no other safe option left. He looked at Moraña and agreed to his offer.
“Perfect. Now leave the girl right there and be on your way. I’ll personally deal with anyone who interferes with the deal we just made. So don’t worry and run along now.”
And so Tsander does. Leaving Moraña behind, he hurried after Alexander and Tujitou.
“Take the princess and put her in the wagon. I’ll personally escort her back home.”
“FUUUUUUCK!”, Lazerus shouted in anger, frightening the soldiers.
“Don’t worry about him and just do your job. Dogs need to be kept on a leash.”
Lazerus walked away from the scene. Anger was the only emotion he felt. Mocked by children, insects, his father and now even his colleague. He wanted his revenge, but that would come at a cost he could not afford. Knowing this, he tried to calm himself. He tried to light his cigar, but as if fate itself were mocking him, his lighter refused to work properly. In a fit of rage, he wanted to throw his lighter away, but right then, he received a call from Michele.
“What do you want?”
“I got a job for you.”
“Get Jack to do it.”
“There was a personal request for you to do the job.”
“Not in the mood right now.”
“Believe me. You will. At least read the description before you decline it.”
“Sigh…”
Lazerus proceeded to read the description, which causesd him to burst out in laughter.
