Still wowed by the scene, Taiyo sat down on the picnic blanket.
“It still feels like this is all just a dream.”
“I swear it’s not Taiyo-kun, look you can even eat the food.”
Reaching into the picnic basket, Hoshi pulls out some bread and takes a bite. Encouraged, Taiyo pulls a piece of the bread and eats it. His eyes light up at the taste as he says, “Incredible.”
After sitting for a while and enjoying the serenity of their surroundings, Hoshi spoke softly…
“Taiyo-kun, I have a question.”
“Sure, ask me anything. I’ve asked you quite a bit so far.”
“Do you believe in love at first sight?” Hoshi said sheepishly.
“I feel like that kind of stuff only happens in movies…”
Hoshi’s disposition becomes dour.
“…until I met you.”
Hoshi’s disposition flips.
“Really Taiyo-kun?!”
“Yes, I’ve never felt this way before. Maybe it’s all happening too fast, maybe everyone in my life will think I’m crazy…but I know what I feel is real.”
“I feel it too Taiyo-kun…within my programming.”
Taiyo and Hoshi lovingly stare into each others eyes, a gravitational pull moving them in for a kiss. But before the consummation of real and digital lips was made, Taiyo suddenly wakes up in his bed. Eyes wide, he looks around in shock. How did he get back to his apartment? What happened with Hoshi? Was it really all a dream? These are the questions that were circling through his head. Though the questions stopped the moment he saw the clock,
“WHAT?! Oh no I’m late for work!”
Hurriedly Taiyo got ready, tie not as tight, jacket hanging onto his shoulders. Sitting on the subway train, he nervously tapped his finger only imagining what his boss would think. As he flashed off the train, he made his way through the crowd and eventually into Kyodo Corporation Group Limited - Shinjuku Branch. Tomo noticed the blur of Taiyo pass his cube and immediately got up to confront him on his tardiness.
“Tai, where the hell have you been?”
“I know…I’m late.” Taiyo said in a resigned voice.
“Understatement of the century.”
“What do you mean?”
“Dude…you’ve been gone for a week and don’t even bother to call out sick?”
“Gone…FOR A WEEK?!…”
