Darkness spreads over the room with nothing but candles lighting it up. 

With blood formed in a circle. Symbols drawn. Dead bodies in the center.

Chanting words that are gibberish to the ears.

Multiple cloaked people standing outside of the circle with their hands out and their palms open as they chant out the words. 

"Please grant our wishes, oh Great Demon ቿዒሁጎፕልነ.".

....... 

1 week earlier... 

September 26, 2025, 3:28 PM... 

Sitting in a cold room. With a large oval-shaped table in the middle of the room. 

Along with a screen projector in the middle of the table. 

Multiple seats around the table each have one person sitting. 

Graim is standing at the end of the table near the large screen being projected from the screen projector, while Ira, Alice, and Laos sit at the opposite end from Graim. 

With Loin and three others at the side of the table. 

"It seems everyone is here. Then let us start the meeting." Graim said while connecting his laptop to the screen projector.

Alice leans next to Laos to whisper something: "Are these really all of the demon extermination members?"

Laos whispers back, "Only for this branch. We have other branches in other parts of the country."

Ira tells Alice and Laos, "You two, the meeting is about to start. Listen and focus."

Alice and Laos in unison,"Alright.".

"Alright then, everyone. We got a report from another branch that apparently 4 people have gone missing.".

"2 young adult males and 2 young adult females. It is unknown how these people were said to have disappeared."

"However, we have footage of a man in a cloak carrying something in a black bag. We got this from another branch in Roseton."

Graim plays the footage for everyone to see.

The person covered in a cloak walks into the sewer system holding two somewhat heavy trash bags. As he drags the trash bag into the sewer, blood seems to be making a little trail. 

Then the footage ends.

"I believe those demon cultists are starting to make their move again."

Laos joins the discussion: "It's been months since they've been active. What do you think they're up to?"

Ira replies, "Probably the usual. But there is a possibility this could just be a regular murderer, so we can't just jump to conclusions just yet."

"Good point." Graim scratches his chin. 

"For now we don't have much evidence, nor do we have any idea of their motives. So for now we will strengthen our patrol and search for them discreetly.".

"Sir Loin, please inform the Intellect division of any suspicious activities that they see."

"Understood." Loin nodded. 

"Anyway, for now, this meeting is adjourned.".

...... 

Resting on top of the rooftop of the Legacy building. 

The temperature of the air seems to be cold since it is only 2 months before Christmas.

The trio seems to be drinking soft drinks despite the weather. 

Ira is resting his arms on the railing facing the city, while Laos is doing the same as Ira, except his back is facing the city. 

Alice is sitting on a bench. 

"Why do they have a bench here?" Alice asks Ira and Laos. 

"To rest and sit if they want fresh air.".

"I see... Also, being in that meeting made me a little nervous and anxious. Everyone was so serious there. It was like a secret organization meeting."

"Well, we ARE a secret organization in a way." Laos drinks the can of soda he was holding.

"Looks like we are going to be busier again," Alice says with a worried face.

"Hopefully things don't get out of hand. It was very hard to hide the incident that happened back in January." Laos looks up to the sky. 

Ira quietly listened in on their conversation. 

"What incident?" Alice asks Laos. 

Laos stands up and crushes the can in his hand after finishing his drink.

"It was back in January when a large black entity popped out of an abandoned warehouse on Dockyard Drive."

"Lots of people panicked, but we managed to de-escalate the situation before it got out of hand. The entity only managed to appear for a few seconds."

"It was hectic. Also, a month after that is when Ira joined Legacy, I think?". 

"So any theories?" Alice asks. 

"A demon probably is the only explanation."

"What about you, Ira?" Laos asks. 

"It's a possibility."

Laos stops leaning on the railing and stretches his body a bit. "It's like the calm before the storm. Ever since that black entity appeared, lately, for the past few months, demon activities have been slowly rising."

"What type of demons have you guys been fighting?" Alice asks Laos and Ira. 

"Mostly groups of imps and some no name demons." Laos answered Alice's question. 

Laos pointing at Alice "You should go to the library or search it up. It's public information that people think are myths.".

"But we have to go and get prepared. Remember what Graim assigned us?"

Ira finally after being quiet for the entire conversation. 

"Prepare essential things because we are going to a renaissance fair in Roseton City, Dawnbridge Street." Standing up and crushing the can in his hand. 

"Oohh~ What's the occasion?" Alice stands up in excitement.

"We are going to be supervising a renaissance fair because another branch in Roseton asked for more backup, since the fair this year seems to have more people than they can manage supervising.".

"The footage we also got, happens to be near the fair as well."

"Alright, I'm fired up!" Alice is excited mostly because she gets to go to her very first fair.

........ 

Meanwhile in Graim's office... 

"Well, it's been a while, Sir Loin. How did investigating the activities of the demon cult go?"

Loin sets the folder in front of Graims table. 

Graim then opens the folder.

Graim thought to himself, "(As always, this man is impressive. How organized.)"

Scanning the contents within the folder. Graim comes across something within the folder that makes his eyes widen, then making him smirk. 

"Well, well. Looks like these cultists are much smarter than they look.".

Graim hands the folder back to Loin. 

"Give this to the Intellect division."

"Alright then."

Graim looks Loin in the eyes.

"Judging by the way you look at me, it looks like you have something to say to me."

Loin moving closer to the table. 

Enraged for some reason. Loin slams the table, and his face gets close to Graims. 

Graim was calm and collected, keeping a smile on his face. 

For what reason was Loin angry at Graim? 

"With how close you are to my face, it makes it look like you're about to kiss me."

Grams leans back a little into his chair. Resting his face on the knuckles of his hand while smiling.

"Why is Alice here?!" Loin questioned Graim. 

"Well, she knows about the existence of demons, which is supposed to be confidential to the public." Graim answered Loin. 

"Though she was given a choice between living a normal life or joining the organization, you already know the choice."

Loin anger gets to the point that his face turns red. 

"You're the one that interviews everyone that joins the organization! You should've just told her she didn't qualify for the organization!"

Graim expression changes from smiling to annoyed and displeased. 

"You do know how much we need more people. I wouldn't have put her in the demon extermination if she didn't have grit and determination.".

"She's a strong girl. Do you not believe in her capabilities?"

"I know you mean well for her safety, but if you continue to treat her like a child, her growth as a person will stagnate."

"I even put her with Ira and Laos. She'll be safe."

"Keep prolonging the truth and you'll live to regret it."Graim's words seems to pierce even the angered Loin. 

Loin grits and clenches his teeth.

Graim's words seems to impact Loin much more than he thought. 

The topic about telling the truth to a certain someone seems to be very sensitive for Loin. 

The tension between the two grew. A secret that not many know–Ira, Graim and Loin.

Three individuals that knows a secret about Alice that she doesn't. 

Turning around and walking out of the office before closing the door, Loin threatens Graim.

"If anything happens to her you'll pay Graim.".

Closing the door. Graims office falls into silence. 

"Noted."

"What a fierce man you're Loin Pere.....or maybe I should call you by your spouse last name instead?".

"Loin Blizzri?".
