I can't believe I didn't end up going to the same school as my friends… Why me, why me!!

I was utterly alone, but not as worried as I should have been.

"Class, you may already know this, but our school is running dorms. Those of you staying in one, you will be with one other person from our school. This person will be completely random! So please make sure to get along with them." My teacher groaned.

"I will e-mail the form room numbers to each of you when the time comes, including the name of the person you'll be partnered up with. So please stay tuned until further notice!"

My… room… How am I supposed to be comfortable living with someone I don't know!???

Throughout the entire day, I was mortified; the feeling of forced interaction had been chipping away at my nerves.

I already knew the apartment number through my parents, but not that it would be shared…

I opened the door to the apartment, but nobody was there. A sigh of relief washed over my body.

"Not here yet."

I sat in my bed and opened my email. Sure enough, there was the dreaded message, sitting atop my pile of emails.
