Dear Diary,
Tonight, I shall do it.
I will leave the castle and see the world beyond its walls. I have prepared an outfit befitting a commoner, and I have studied the manner of their speech by listening from my secret room. Within that room lies a narrow window through which I may crawl. I have ventured only as far as the roof before, but I know the path well.
It was my father who taught me such skills. He had once hoped for a son, and so he trained me in archery, balance, and climbing. I cherish those lessons now more than ever.
The window faces the jail rather than the village, which grants me cover. I have fashioned a rope and will descend unseen, leaving it in place so I may return before dawn.
I shall tell you all that comes of this tomorrow.
