Chapter 7
Now the whole thing that just happened was crazy, and what happens now will probably be even crazier.
“So let me get this straight.” Carter said, “It turns out the MDSC is on our side?”
Elie nodded, “Presumably yes, but they are still sending people after us.”
“So why should we trust this guy?” Tharnak asked.
Ellie shrugged, “We shouldn’t, but if he’s even giving us a chance.” Ellie held up the scroll, “Maybe we should take it.”
Carter nodded, “But what if this leads us into a trap?”
Ellie nodded, “It probably does, but we have to try. He said all the organizations are run by the counsel, and that they aren’t too fond of our work. Maybe we should trust him, if he is trying to keep the multiverse together.”
Carter shrugged, “Your funeral.”
Ellie rolled her eyes and opened the scroll, it read of a spell called Disguise Others, a way to hide a person's true identity. Ellie nodded, “Alright Tharnak, I’m going to cast this on you. Ready?”
“Excuse me? What are you doing to me?” Tharnak asked.
“It’s a spell to disguise you as anyone.” Ellie said.
“From the Master Knight?” Carter asked, “I don’t know if we should try that.”
Ellie smiled, “I’m not going to try it,” Ellie absorbed the magic of the scroll, “I’m going to test it.” Ellie turned to Tharnak, “It is a spell to disguise you, fully. Appearance and all.”
Tharnak nodded, “Alright, just keep most of my features.”
Ellie nodded and held out her hand, she cast the spell and immediately Tharnak turned from a Demon to a human. He kept his different colored eyes and his ear in human form seemed like it was deformed in a way. Other than that normal human.
Tharnak opened his eyes, and looked at himself. “Alright, me as a human. A bit weird, but ok.” He smiled, “When do we leave?”
Ellie had gotten enough energy to just open a portal with a thought, and when she did it opened into a strange rip.
Ellie nodded, “Let’s go.” She jumped in, not waiting a single second.
Ellie woke up in a room, white. She looked around to see the disguised Tharnak to her right, and Carter to her left.
Carter was looking around them, with the same worried face he’d had when they entered the Demon Dimension. “Where are we now?”
Ellie got up, and looked around where Carter was looking. They were in a long hallway, in a pocket to the side of it. Hidden by anyone casually walking by. Carter was looking to their right. Ellie followed his gaze to see a sign, one that read NEXUS. In big bold letters, they were now stuck in the NEXUS foundation.
