ㅤ They say I burned my soul on the altar. That I tore off the skin of innocence to wear pain and revenge, but beasts don't feel. Beasts don't flinch before the truth.

ㅤ And this truth—my truth—has golden eyes. And it roars inside me.

ㅤ “You, of all people... should be the one who longs most for my death,” he whispers, his breath hot as sin.

ㅤ Silence.

ㅤ “Make no mistake, my love. Part of me does want to kill you.” I stare at him. “But death would be a blessing for someone like you, wouldn't it?”
