“Your highness it is morning you need to be awake now” said one of the maids gently shaking me up while the others prepare my clothes and belongings

Before going to dining table for breakfast, curious to see how my garden are doing perhaps another flower has bloom, just like yesterday the garden is peaceful The sunlight warmed the petals, The soft scent of jasmine filled the air, making the garden feel calm and quiet while the garden does not have many visitors besides the gardener tending the plants- zzzzp, zzrk, zzzk!

“What the?!” It’s that noise again, from behind the tree better hurry before that noise disappear! With no hesitation I ran to where the noise is coming from, as I get to the tree suddenly..  

a burst of  FIRE came out of nowhere!, I was stunned and my dress got caught in a small fire, “ what shall I do!” in a panic I jump into a fountained near by the cold water soaking me from head to toe.  “great… can this day just get any Worse?...” 

After already starting the days horribly, I looked to up and froze, there just not far from me was the source of all the chaos. A tiny dragon, no bigger than a cat Its wide, curious eyes met mine, and for a moment, neither of us moved. I could feel my heart racing—not from fear this time, but from awe. Could this really be a dragon? A real, living dragon… and a baby, no less. “it’s so cuteee” I stand up and look closer despite the fire and chaos the baby dragon look harmless “So you’re the one behind all those strange things yesterday, huh, buddy” it doesn’t really make a noise but it tilted his head a bit and the was fire coming out of his nostrils doesn’t seem to know what I am talking about.

“Hmm.. I shall name you buddy even though you burnt my dress and giving me a hard time yesterday you’re so cute, perhaps after a while I could forgive you” the baby dragon jump around happy with small fire coming out of his mouth, I chuckled softly

“ YOUR HIGHNESS!, where have you been?!” I hid buddy before looking around it was sir Arthur, to my surprises I completely forgot about the time from the shock of seeing a baby dragon for the first time, at first he seem concerned “are you all right you’re highness?!” he saw my torn up dress and still soaking wed from the fountain

 “oh well- I accidently... set myself on fire?” seriously hopes he believed that

 He stared at me weird for a moment “…..how ” despite the stupidity he believed it

 “no reason..” a short answered not wanting to further explain

 then he lets out small breath “my lady, the royal family has been waiting for you at the dining table, will you be fine ?”  he has been the one dealing with me the most, so he probably expect me doing something foolish again

 “ yes understandable! I’ll change and be there as soon as possible” I walked past him still thinking about leaving the baby dragon for a moment.

 The dining hall was already lit by towering chandeliers when I arrived, their warm glow reflecting off polished silver and long rows of candles. My family was seated as always Father at the head of the table, Mother beside him, my siblings scattered along the sides. Conversations hushed the moment I stepped in.

 “What took you so long my dear?” father asked wanting to know what make me delay breakfast this time.

 “ you didn’t get locked in the library again did you? My older brother replied with a chuckled He was always like that teasing, sharp eyed, and far too amused by my misadventures. As the crown prince, he carried himself with effortless confidence, yet around family he relaxed, enjoying every chance to remind me of my past embarrassments.

 “no, I just went to the garden and lost track of time nothing else” they will believed that, this isn’t the first time I almost miss out on breakfast,

 “Seriously, you need to keep track of time better amelia” my older sister sipping on his tea Unlike my brother, she was composed and precise in everything she did. Every movement, every word, was measured perfectly fitting for someone who took royal expectations far more seriously than I ever could.

 After breakfast, I continued my day as usual lessons, meetings, and endless schedules that came with being royal. Still, every small break I managed to find led me back to the garden. Just a quick visit. Just to make sure Buddy was doing well. He is the cutest little fella I know.

I couldn’t tell my family, and I definitely couldn’t tell the knights. For now, this little secret felt safer kept between us. Buddy seemed content, curling up among the flowers as if he belonged there all along. 

Watching him breathe out tiny sparks and blink up at me, I found myself smiling more than I had in days.

Perhaps today wasn’t so terrible after all.
