After finishing our meals, we then went to Lee's company. Everyone looked at me as I walked next to Lee.
Me: Are people always staring?
Lee: CEO chooses to marry a princess. It's an interesting combo.
Me: I wonder how would our kids be. Half royal, fully rich?
Lee: Ooh... thinking of having kids already?
Me: I am just thinking out loud. Don't get ahead of yourself.
Lee: Okay... we will see about that.
Heading to the lift, I caught sight of someone in the formal North Cybrican royal attire. Was it the traitors? Their eyes looked so similar to Elena's...
Lee: What's wrong?
Me: No, I just see someone similar as a family member, but I am merely hallucinating.
Liam: People will think you are crazy if you do that.
Me: It's a real person I am looking at Liam.
An Hour Later
Me: Why are we here, by the way?
Lee: We won't be here for long. Just making it official.
Me: Without the family?
Lee: It's a story for another evening.
Me: Haha. And I should believe that.
We were at the court and I looked up at the building. This only meant one thing. He wanted to get the marriage officiated as soon as possible. And his family were only getting in the way.
Me: I see you can't wait any longer.
Lee: Everyone will just get in the way. (To me) Why not get married and avoid less time?
I shook my head. Lee Romano was unbelievable. His entire family is. For a matter of fact, I didn't believe Lee had a backbone to defend his 'wife'. It felt good though.
Lee: Ready?
Me: Yeah. I mean, it's you.
Lee: (Chuckling) Quite an interesting sense of humor you have.
The three of us went inside and before I knew it, we had the marriage certificate in our hands and I was now officially a Romano. I turned to Lee. I wonder why Lee decided to do this prior to the wedding.
Liam: So now you are Liana Romano.
Me: (Nodding) Seems like it.
Lee: She officially my wife now; we are married by law.
Just then, Lee's phone then buzzed. I saw Lee chuckle before packing it away. I felt curious to know what was so funny.
Me: Laughing? That's a first.
Lee: When your family thinks they can control the plan, but I am one step ahead of them.
Me: Okay?
Lee: They want to postpone the wedding.
Me: Oh?
Lee: But too bad for them (gesturing at the marriage certificate) We are married by law now.
I shook my head.
Me: You are very funny Lee. Know that?
Lee: I'm flattered. Anyway, what do you want to do now?
Me: Me?
Lee: Yes. Anything.
Me: Let's go home and have a drink. I need to hear your darkest secrets.
Liam: He doesn't have any.
Me: I will have to get them out somehow.
Lee: Looking forward to it. (To Liam) I will send you home. Will see you when we get home.
Lee got a car to drive Liam back home, leaving the 2 of us alone.
Lee: So you said you are curious to know about me?
Me: Yeah. Very.
Lee: Pick a place.
Me: Home.
Lee: Anyway apart from home.
Me: La Romans - the outskirts restaurant.
Lee: Let's go then.
Me: But before that, tell me something. Do you have a house apart from the Estate?
Lee: (Smirking) Thought you would never ask. Of course I do.
Me: I thought you would be difficult.
Lee: Not as difficult as you think.
Hours Later - La Romans restaurant
Me: Lee... you really have no secrets to share.
I had just finished my final glass of wine and Lee looked composed.
Me: Look at you, all composed. Hmm?
Lee: I would say the same to you.
I shook my head, turning to my watch. It was already 8pm.
Lee: Want us to go home?
I nodded.
Me: Please.
We got up, taking my bag as we walked out of the restaurant to the parking lot. Walking next to Lee, I got to see just how... handsome he is.
But I knew it was my intoxication speaking.
Me: I don't know this wine. I have never been this intoxicated before.
Lee: You don't look like it.
Me: Haha.
Lee: And you are still sarcastic.
Me: ...
Lee: My sarcastic wife.
My face reddened, I turned away and walked faster to the car. Lee is taking advantage of the situation. I'm simply drunk.
Getting into the car, I fell asleep.
* * *
I felt myself in someone's arms, the cold breeze hitting me. I slowly opened my eyes to see myself in Lee's arms, being carried to another mansion that looked luxurious but different to the Estate. Perhaps we were on the other side of the main Estate.
Lee: You are awake now.
Me: Where are we?
Lee: My Estate.
Me: Yours? As in, far from...
Lee: Yes. They don't know of this Estate. Very intimate, right?
Me: (Blushing) Lee, stop saying this like this. I'm intoxicated.
Lee: Surely you will remember what I said tomorrow, right?
Getting inside, closing the door, Lee went to the bedroom and put me down. I was now facing Lee, our faces inches away from each other. This was getting dangerous.
And in the state I'm in, I might just give in.
Me: (Moving back) Thanks for carrying me here.
Lee: You are my wife Liana.
Me: Are you seriously not seeing anything wrong about this?
Lee: A newly married couple in their own Estate mansion for the first time in their bedroom on their wedding night? (Smirking) Are you thinking of-
Me: (Blushing) In your dreams rich boy. I just want to sleep. South Cybric wine is different from ours in the North.
Lee: Sweet or not?
Me: Hmm?
Lee: The wine. Sweet or not?
Me: Not.
Lee: That's the difference. Your one, this time, was sweet.
Me: But you are still composed.
Lee: We are blinds leading each other to a pit.
Lee made his way back in front of me. I stood still, locking eyes with him.
Me: Lee...
Lee: I don't want us to make mistakes we will regret later.
Me: ... Says you.
Lee: (Smirking) Are you giving me admin rights?
Me: No, but I must say, you are different-ish.
Lee: Oh? In what sense?
Me: I don't know.
I then wrapped my arms around Lee's waist in a hug.
Me: That pact we made won't work on me. You haven't won yet...
I looked up at Lee, and felt his hand cup my cheek.
Lee: Then what we are doing now... what is it?
I leaned closer, tilting my head to see his reaction. He wasn't drunk. At least, for now.
So why am I acting like the crazy one?
Me: Just a fake marriage between 2 people, about to escalate into something dangerously bigger if not careful.
I had to move away before anything happens. I knew I had to. But I couldn't.
Lee: You are right. That's why I am not making any advancements.
I paused.
Lee: I want us to do it under... sober circumstances.
I nodded, laughing.
Me: What makes you think my thoughts were on that? Pervert.
Lee, suddenly embarrassed, shook his head.
Lee: Maybe my judgement is being clouded now.
Me: Then let's go to bed and deal with... whatever this is, tomorrow.
I let go of my arms around him, tip toeing to plant a kiss on his cheek.
Me: I'm tired of removing my dress, so don't bother.
I threw myself on the bed, not bothering to remove my shoes and fell asleep.
Maybe, this marriage won't be so bad.
