Barakhtozian Assault - A short memoir story

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Dec 27, 2025

Now it is me (Nehjung) who takes over in this chapter.

Even though my friend's thoughts are that terrifying regarding religion, but believe me, he still carries out religious commands properly, even though in his worship, his thoughts are always diverted to the things above. Suspicion, cynicism, and thousands of questions he always tries to ask and answer himself in his mind in his solitude. But he still continues to live it even though it is not suitable for him.

It once crossed his mind to leave religion and live the day without embracing any teaching, but that is impossible for him because his life from the beginning indeed has depended on religion, and will continue to be like that.

In this memoir, READER, it is not my intention to leave religion completely. And not all humans also must be forced into a circum full of rigid dogmas that cannot be touched. There are humans who indeed consider religion very much as a way of life, and there are also those who do not need religion because they think that life does not need to use it. What I emphasize here, oh wise READER, do not make religion a space Without Asking, because that will make religion rigid and give birth to a 'silent' generation as told by my friend. And also, Perhaps you see my friend very disappointed with his religion, but you need to know, his disappointment is not because he hates that religion, but Disappointment that arises from Honesty. Honesty because he really wants to see this religion become better, but is instead disappointed by it. He loves religion very much.

And one more, READER, I do not want to hear again that all this is blamed on religion. Nee, NEE! No, religion does not teach mistakes, not at all, not in any crumb, in any religion. Blame the people who conclude religious lessons 'as they please', and use it to strengthen their buttocks in their position using religious teachings as their wheel, and I hate that too.

Hey you know, by writing this memoir, also makes me increasingly convinced that, religion must continue to be questioned, not with condemnation or anti-religion.

A fictional memoir based on a true story, following the internal struggle of a young man in the fictional Republic of Barakhtozia. He critically questions his religious upbringing, the fairness of God, and the stark contradiction between teachings of peace and the reality of societal hypocrisy and ongoing religious conflict. His sincere inquiries are met with silencing, threats of "sin," and labels of being a dissenter. The core message is not a rejection of faith, but a raw, honest plea to distinguish pure religious essence from its rigid, politicized misuse by people in power. It's a call for critical thinking, the courage to ask questions, and preventing religion from becoming a tool that breeds passive, fanatical generations. Ultimately, it's a story of disappointment born from a deep love and hope for religion to truly embody the justice and peace it promises.
