Han leaped off his gleaming black and grey Gold Tour motorcycle. The sunlight illuminated Han's chiseled, tall six-foot frame, making him look angelic. The afternoon air was sticky and sweltering, and the lack of wind made him want to hurry inside his condo even more—Han hated the heat. He quickly grabbed the single bag on the bike's handle and took his key out of the ignition. Today, Som would appear on the 2121 YouTube channel. It’s famous for its ‘Get To Know Me’ segment. He looked forward to it ever since Som posted the video where one of the cards had a blurred image of his arm.

"Did he have a tattoo?" Han wondered as he walked towards the elevator.

The elevator dings, and just as the door opens, a grey-dressed figure in shades runs out, almost running into Han.

“Sorry,” the person says, running towards a nearby black SUV.

“What’s his hurry?” Han says, sticking his arm in the elevator opening to force the elevator to stop closing.

Han stepped out of the shower, his medium-length black hair wet and slicked back from his face. His dark-brown eyes meet his reflection as he wipes off the foggy bathroom mirror. Water droplets fall from his toned, lightly tanned skin; one glides right down his six-pack right before he wipes it off with his towel. He grabs the pair of black boxers off the sink and puts them on quickly as he’s starting to get cold.

The TV in the living room played the 2121 interview with Som; it started right before Han could finish his shower. Now, he would have to re-watch it later.

"I loved your latest shoot," the host gushed, holding up a glossy magazine adorned with a sultry image of Som in a black leather jacket without an undershirt and black pants with various chains on the pant legs.

"Thank you," Som replied with a sweet smile. Internally, he sighed. It was always the same—some host gushes over some almost burlesque pictures, empty pleasantries, and (if he were with another actor) some fan service.

Irritation, annoyance, and frustration are hidden in a specially crafted, rehearsed smile.

"So, now it’s time to get into our ‘get to know me’ portion of our show. Please take the pumpkin to your right and pick your first question.”

Som stuck his hand in the opening of the plastic pumpkin and swirled the questions around before picking out the first one.

“When was your first kiss?” Som said, reading the question aloud. “Well,” he started, “it was so long ago, but it was when I was in middle school. I had a girlfriend then, so I shared the experience with her.”

Som swirled his hand in the pumpkin again to pick out the next question. When he picked up the second question, he looked taken aback.

“If you were cloned with a robot and were somehow switched and ended up at some random person’s house who thought you were the robot version of yourself, how would you react?”

"Who would ask something so elaborate?" Han thought to himself as he continued watching the TV. He grabbed the aloe juice on the coffee table and drank, the cool and refreshing contents quenching his thirst.

“Well, um…” Som let out a nervous chuckle as he attempted to answer the question again. Personally, I have absolutely no idea what I would do. I might try to act like the robot or correct the person and let them know I’m not the ‘me-bot’ they ordered.” Som looked at the camera, visibly confused, then snapped back into focus, swirling the questions around and picking out the third one.

“Do you have any tattoos?” Som read aloud. He pulled off his jacket and rolled up the little bit of short-sleeved shirt he had on. “Yes, I do, actually. It’s very tiny, and I don’t generally have this arm displayed on camera, so you wouldn’t notice it.” The camera zooms in closer on the smallest tattoo of the Roman numerals MCMXCIX, surrounded by a tiny Taurus symbol. The tattoo is displayed across his upper arm, so small that you must zoom in to see it properly.

“It’s my only tattoo, and I got it while I still lived in Korea; I had a bit of a rebellious phase at one point, and though I have many piercings, that was the only time I got a tattoo.”

“What does it mean?” the host asks.

It’s my zodiac sign, and the Roman numerals around it represent my birth year. So, 1999 Taurus.”

“How interesting,” the host beamed, urging him to pick his next and final question.

“What are you reading currently?”

"A couple of webtoons and some fan fiction."

"Ooh, fanfiction. What has been your favorite so far?" the host asks, with general interest on her face.

"So far, my favorite that just completed has been 'A Tale of the Guardians in the Clouds.' It's inspired by Greek mythology but with a modern twist."

"That's interesting." The host looks at the camera before speaking again. Check out 'A Tale of the Guardians in the Clouds.' Som, it has been a pleasure today. Would you like to say something to the fans?"

Som smiled, "Thank you for supporting me; please stay healthy."

Han sat on the floor in his living room; the empty green aloe vera juice bottle sat on the small black glass coffee table in front of him as the countdown to the next YouTube video ticked away. 3…2…1, the sound of the next video started. It was a rap song from Som. Generally, Han loved hearing Som rapping, but he felt somewhat empty. Han saw the makings of tiredness, irritation, and a hint of sadness in Som’s eyes during the interview, and he felt helpless because he could do nothing to help.

Who was he to him?

The only thing he could do was be supportive, because that was who he was to Som—a loving, supportive, unknown...fan.

The sound of the doorbell ringing frantically burst Han out of his pity party. He opened the door just as his older brother, Ran, ran into the condo, looking like he owed money to a loan shark.

"Hello to you, too," Han says, closing the door.

Han watched as Ran paced frantically around his front room. Ran's red strands were a mess, and his hair stuck up in different directions as though he'd pulled and run his hands through it several times in frustration.

“Ran,” Han called out to his brother as he continued pacing rapidly around the condo.

“Ran,” Han called out again.

“This is bad. So very, very bad.” Ran mumbled to himself, continuing his pace around the condo.

“RAN!” Han shouted, finally getting his brother’s attention. “Why are you here, freaking out in my condo? Did you borrow money from a loan shark or something?” Han asked with a raised eyebrow.

“No, this is worse than borrowing money from a loan shark,” Ran says, complete panic in his eyes.

“What could be worse than borrowing money from a loan shark? Wait, don’t tell me your promiscuous life finally caught up with you, and you got a girl pregnant, or you had sex with some married man or woman. Wait, did you get an STD? Oh god, we have to take you to the health clinic stat,” Han said, going to get his wallet from the bathroom. Ran placed his hands on Han’s shoulders to stop him, his eyes still in panic before he spoke, “though all of those things are really bad, none of those things are what the problem is at stake.” Han sighed, pushing his brother’s hands off his shoulders. “So, tell me what the problem is. Why are you pacing around my condo in a panic?”

Ran sighs, walks over to the grey cushioned couch, and sits down. “So, you know how my team is working on AI copy robots. " Han nods in agreement, and Ran continues, “So, a very famous and wealthy client came in today.”

“You always have very famous and wealthy clients,” Han said, cutting his brother off.

“Yeah, but this one is different. This one is beloved by two houses!” Ran said dramatically with one arm in the air. Han rolled his eyes.

“We’re not in Shakespearean times, “ Han said, pulling his brother’s arm out of the air. “Now, get to the point, you’re making me nervous.”

Ran breathed in deep, letting it out slowly before he continued, “I lost the client.” Ran says.

“So, you mean you lost money because the client didn’t like what you created?” Han asked, confused as to what his brother was getting at.

Ran laughed, “Well, that would have been impossible because we make great products.” He stopped laughing; his tone was now serious. “No, we physically lost the customer; he just up and disappeared,” Ran said, walking over to the couch and sitting down with a plop. He looked at Han, who still stood bewildered in the middle of his living room.

“W-what do you mean you lost the client? How is that even possible? How can a whole human in a company just up and disappear?” Han asked, still flabbergasted at the news.

Ran pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. “Yeah, well, it happened, so until then, I need you to keep the robot version of the guy here.” He scrolled through his phone's contacts before pressing the call button. “Bring it up,” he said, hanging up the phone and abruptly standing up.

“Wait, why can’t you just give the robot version of the guy to someone he trusts or keep him in the lab?” Han asked.

“You know how our MOIB bots are built, right? They come automatically in ‘free-will’ mode. Unless you know the secret code spoken by the real person to the robot, it has a mind and emotions of its own.” Just then, Han’s doorbell rang. Ran walked over to the door and opened it just as a short male pushed in a large wooden box. “Oh, I forgot to mention one tiny little detail.” Ran said with a mischievous, playful smile, “I have no idea what language it’s set in!”

“H-hold-” Before Han could get out the rest of his sentence, Ran had already run out of the door, dragging the delivery guy with him.

Han pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing in irritation, “Just what the hell has he gotten me into?”
