Dakota hadn’t left her bed in a week. Her grandmother had come to live with them to take care of baby Miles ever since the funeral.
Thea came into her room.
“Hey Dakota. How are you doing?”
Dakota didn’t say anything.
“You…. wanna go out and do something?”
Still nothing.
“I really am sorry for what happened. But your grandma is really worried about you. You haven’t gotten out of bed for-”
Dakota rolled out of bed. “Well it’s my fault she has to be here in the first place!” she cried. “It’s not fair, they died saving me! We should fight back! We should go into the human town and hurt those hunters' parents!”
Thea and Dakota stare at each other before Thea bursted out laughing. Dakota stared at her dead pan.
“Oh-Oh you’re serious-Dakota! We can’t do that! We’re just cubs! We can’t hurt them, that’s wrong!!”
“They don’t seem to think it’s wrong!”
“That doesn't MEAN it’s right!”
Dakota jumped out of bed. “FINE! If you don’t wanna help me, I’ll go myself!”
Dakota ran out of the cabin.
“Da-Dakota wait!,”
Thea tried to follow her out but quickly lost track of her in the pouring rain. “Dakota come back!”
But she didn’t come back.
“Dakota’s grandma! Help!” Thea ran back into the cabin.
Dakota was running through the woods blind and didn’t see the cliff in front of her. Her leg slipped off and before Dakota knew it, she was free falling. The world went dark.
