Resident Block 53

A young Citizen sat on a couch downing a carbonated soda drink quickly, he popped the bottle from his mouth as he let out a satisfying exhale, then wiped his mouth. He shouted into a gaming headset, as he held a controller in his hand,
"Yo get that guy - yo - yo he's one shot – one shot! N-no!!" he fell back, sinking into his unkept couch, which was as unkept as his hygiene, clothing, and home. Raging voices could be heard in the headset. The Clay Skinned Citizen was quite a large fellow, unbeknownst to him, his CoolDown phase had ended, meaning that it was time to get a job, whether he wanted one or not.

Suddenly the door was kicked in, he yelped like a prey's final last sound before doom was given to it, another large individual, this time clad in Protectorate Gear dove at him, the weight took the two crashing into the glass table before them, covering them in pile of forgotten bags of junk food and liquids. An Ancient walked through the door with her gun at the ready, she looked at the other Protectorate handcuffing the large citizen. Aradi looked at the mess and cringed, her place was always spotless, clean, dust was a form of contraband in her domain. This place made her want to call it a day and shower.

The other Protectorate: Ji-Jun, dug his knee into the Citizen,
"Futoi Shi, you make us look bad, why aren't you serving the Council?"
Futoi shi, the large Citizen, groaned in pain,
"I-I'm sorry, I forgot, and m-"
"Excuses, Futoi. This is the second time I had to come visit, you're lucky to be an E class Citizen, it doesn't matter if you have grace when you let your credit drop too low. Should've been taken to the NC Districts. Come on you slob, we're getting you a job" Ji-Jun said as he got up, Futoi lifted himself up. He turned to see a stunning sight, a human in his line of sight, his mouth dropped as he stared at the phenomenon. Aradi made an absolutely noticeable reaction, her cheeks suddenly bloated, a swift moment of air escaped her lips, her throat clenched as she turned and grabbed a trash bin, then a gag. Ji-Jun looked at her,
"Uhhh you ok there, Lieutenant?"

A saliva ridden exhale could be heard reverberating from inside the trash bin, she then dropped it,
"Yea, yea I'm fine"
Futoi stared in wonderment, ignoring the display of her screaming disgust of him,
"Y-you're a human! Like in Star Shooters 4!" the large Citizen shouted, Ji-Jun elbowed his backside,
"Shut up, Futoi"
"Oww - I - W-wait let - can I ask you, do humans really attract strange tiny microbes that eat their skin every night? Why do humans grow their hair back so fast, do they have - you know, nothing down there like us? I've never met a human before..."
As Futoi kept rambling, Aradi took her taser out and shot him without hesitation, his body vibrated for a few seconds, she then let go of the trigger before sighing in annoyance. Futoi swayed side to side of a second, held up by Ji-Jun,
"At least warn me next time" he said, Aradi didn't even meet his eyes before responding,
"I'll call in a clean team and write the rest of the report" she said.

As the 2 left the premises. The Elf stood there, breathing slowly, taking in the filth surrounding her, she then kicked the trash bin, the sound of the bin felt like a sting to the silence as the bin bounced around , she then pushed air out of her lungs, and walked out.

Aradi's home

Aradi sat on the couch stress eating a pack of PoPoes, a well tasty bag of chips, she was quite annoyed with how her body was, why was it always combative with the Council's systems? Why couldn't she assimilate? Questions that provided more stress than answers, therefore, it was something she would rather ignore, but still in the back of her head they would linger when situations arise that question her entire existence.

For as long as she could remember, her structure caused strange anomalies in technology, the events were incredibly random, sometimes interacting with technology was as smooth as butter, other times it was a brain wrecking experience, overall it perplexed scientists and doctors. A special GCID code was made for her to use. Generally GCID readers are a backend sort of technology since thumbprints and other variations of scanning are overall normalized in the Galactic Council.

The next day

The Elf stood in the doorframe to her room. The bed was properly made and tight, no dust could be found hiding in the corners or otherwise. Her eyes veered to her double sided window, the sounds of the city always irritated her ears. Unlike the eccentric depictions one would see in fantasy media, her ears were not prolonged, but rather the tips were of a short dagger like sculpture, the common eye wouldn't notice, but they would slightly bend out of irritation. Aradi opened the small dresser drawer next to her bed to reveal a steel case with a digital screen on top of it. As it flickered on, the screen displayed a login box, and she entered her login credentials. As the case made a popping sound, she lifted it up to reveal a handgun.

The Galactic Council is extremely strict on the presence of guns, in fact they are all around illegal to own with 1 exception, endangered citizens are able to hold them for home defense only if they are signed up with the protectorate and have extensive training, while also keeping the weapon in a case with the addition of only non-lethal rounds being fired within the grounds of the assigned home. Aradi picked the weapon up, it was a non-lethal PEP-4. She was required weekly to hard link the gun for diagnostics, how many rounds fired, how many mags used. The data would be sent to the protectorate in order to assess whether or not she could keep the firearm. A message on the UI confirmed a passing grade.

The apartment door slid open to reveal a long hallway with many closed doors, she stepped out and began to walk towards an elevator that would take her to the lower level to her garage. The apartment she lived in was constructed for endangered citizens of the Council, they were often housed together with their own to increase social interaction and copulation in order to be preserved, but due to Aradi being the last known Elf in the entire Galactic Council, she was housed in the human sector on Gantun.

Aradi pressed the elevator button, the doors opened to reveal a rather compact space, as she walked in, a scanner from the top center shot green lights that touched every nook and cranny of the room. Aradi took her GCID out in anticipation and walked to the user interface. Suddenly the lights went red, the doors closed, a speaker went on with a robotic,
"Unknown organic substance detected, please alert the authorities, automatic alert system active in 2 seconds"
Aradi waved her GCID over the user interface, the lights then turned from red back to their natural state.
Suddenly it went red again,
"Error, error - please remain calm during immediate quarantine, authorities have been notified. Please remain calm" the machine said.

Aradi began to slouch, she let out a loud exhale followed by a grunt. She sat down on the elevator floor and rested her head against the cold metal, minutes later, the door opened.

An individual covered from head to toe in a black hazard suit walked through, it turned it's line of sight at Aradi, who sat in the corner with her arms wrapping around her knees, pressing them against her chest, she made a face of total embarrassment, the tips of her ears somewhat bent back as she looked away.

A few minutes later

News cameras and press stood outside of her apartment complex, wondering what the commotion was, streamers taking selfies with their phones, asking subscribers to drop a like, share the video. The last quarantine was about 30 years ago, so it was a huge event despite it being confined to one building.

Aradi stood in the hallway, being scanned head to toe, she was given an all clear sign, the officer in the hazard suit sighed,
"We got word about you, but we have to follow procedure anyway, which is why this only lasted a few minutes and not hours. We made sure that the detection process increased"
The Elf looked down to the floor, her face red, she stood quietly, the officer made a gesture, indicating to wrap things up,
"Alright we're done here"

The room cleared, yet Aradi still felt surrounded. Her fist clenched as she quickly turned around, exhaling violently through her nostrils before entering the elevator.

The elevator smoothly descended a few floors or so before the doors quickly opened just as they had closed. Aradi stepped out into an underground garage, there were vehicles scattered long their assigned parking through the area. Aradi was lucky, her car was near the elevator exit. The car of her choice was a Starlight Night Lux. A rather expensive vehicle that she had saved up for for nearly 98 years.

Her phone touched the scanner pad and the car unlocked, the top of the car rolled down in a very structured fashion, she opened the door and sat in. A sudden ring from her phone went off as she adjusted her seatbelt. Aradi answered,
"Yea go ahead?"
"Hi, miss Aradi? This is Movers and Company, letting you know that some of your furniture is being delayed due to an organic error" the voice said, Aradi raised a brow,
"Organic error..." she quietly muttered,
"Rest assured this is not on your end, we've added a discount to your shipping fee, we're sorry for this error, and hope you continue to use our services, thank you"
The phone clicked, Aradi sat there for a moment, somewhat overtaken by the sudden news. Organic errors are quite rare outside of her own existence, nearly impossible, or at least one might think. Everything in the Galactic Council seems to follow in a strict orderly fashion, but nothing is ever perfect, and this seemed to be one of those times.

Aradi took her car keys and inserted them in the ignition and twisted them to the right, she leaned back as the vehicle quietly powered up, the Smart Nav interface located above the driving stick faded in with a Galactic Council logo on the screen, then a welcome screen presented itself with audio,
"Welcome back, Aradi"

Her foot slowly released the brake pedal and the vehicle began to make its way down the garage path to the outside. The bright light at the of the tunnel drew closer along with the bustling sounds of the city scape, she squinted a bit as the brightness edged to the roof of her car. The car came to a stop at the very edge of the exit, a large box-like enclosure to her left with a railing stretched across the front of the vehicle acting as a barrier meant to stop any unauthorized entry or exit rested before her. She reached out to a small box and tapped her GCID on the security machine, the rail lifted up.

The City of Gantun greeted Aradi with a loud busyness, all sorts of vehicles coming off the ramp onto the one way, Aradi made a left turn when the traffic lights signaled the go-ahead. As she drove down to the Protectorate Headquarters a large Galactic Protectorate vessel loomed overhead, drones detaching to police the airspace of the city. On Gantun, only commercial vehicles could be piloted in the air space due to the priority of the Protectorate ensuring that the cities stay in accordance with the laws. The Elf came to a stop at an intersection, she looked to her left to see a large Prime convoy heading towards the inner part of the city, likely the Prime District.

The Prime District holds large storage units where goods are distributed to the city, they serve as large housing units for goods. Depending on the priority, they are flown in, carried by train, or flown in. An outsider of the Council would likely be under the impression that these are military vehicles moving under some fashion of an operation, but in truth, the Galactic Council takes every aspect of its existence with the utmost importance. Drones flew on the side of the convoy, one flew by in front of the vehicles that were waiting to go on with their day. As it scanned Aradi and her vehicle, it suddenly stopped for a moment. Aradi's eyes lowered as she gazed into the single camera eye. The citizens of the Galactic Council recently became wary of the advanced robotics and AI systems due to the Cybernetic Scare of Berius on the 20th cycle, so naturally, when robotics are involved in some facets of everyday life, there is a slight paranoia to them, for Aradi, this is especially true given her history.....

The drone stood idle for a moment, and then moved on through the traffic. The last of the convoy finally passed, and the light turned green.

Galactic Protectorate HQ building

Aradi arrived at the parking lot of the GP. She was quickly greeted by a fellow officer as she exited her vehicle, she made stern eye contact with the individual,
"Aradi" the Citizen said,
"Pachki" The Elf said.

The two walked together up the steps to the entrance of the building, there was silence between the two, Pachki and Aradi were competitive in the Protectorate Rankings Division of the Gantun Sector, with the F.O.T position being the 2nd to high end desk jobs. The two were something along the lines of friends off of work, but during....well one could say.... rivals.
"So, you got some time off coming up I hear" Pachki said as she brushed her fingers through her half shaved head, Aradi stopped when she got to the top of the stairs, she turned to the 5'2 co-worker,
"Don't know where you heard that rumor, are we making up stories to give you confidence??" she asked. There was a smirk across the Citizen's face,
"Oh I don't need it" she said as she walked through the door. Aradi watched the muscled officer walk through the doors. Aradi looked up towards the edge of the building, it reached high up, she was stationed on the 4th floor in the Standalone Field Operator offices.

The doors slid open as Aradi walked through them. She had been an officer of the Protectorate for nearly more than 300 years, and with that, brings new faces more than not. Some stare, believing her to be human, or believing her to be a mate, to which in both, they are horribly wrong. The hall of the GP HQ was wide, the floors were so clean that they reflected all who stepped upon the surface, even the walls reflected quite nicely, but not strong enough for one to stop by and gander at themselves, or accidentally bump into.

After exiting an elevator that took her to the 4th floor, Aradi walked down what seemed to be an elongated hall to the other side, to the right of her, large ships docked and lifted up in between the tunneled hall and another just on the other side. Rico sat in front of a computer towards the end of the hall. A GCID reader was on the table, Aradi tapped it as she walked by,
"morning lieutenant" Rico said,
"morning" the Elf said as she walked by.
