Aradi shrugged once more,
"....and I'll tell you the same thing I did last week, it's the will of the Council" she said as she scanned their GCIDs, the Elf looked to the taller one,
"Your pet license is expiring in a few days Gene, " she said,
"I'm working on it" he said,
"Uh-huh, you know I broke the arm of someone who lied to me a few days ago? Tried to sweet talk her way off the hook, except her license expired"
"...I was headed there until I saw this. So you gonna tell us anything?"
She shook her head,
"Obviously nohhht"
"Not even a bread crumb? I mean we're not dumb, we know something serious is going down"
"Could've fooled me"
Derlo's voice could be heard from behind her,
"Lieutenant" he called, she turned and gave due respect,
"Yes, sey"
"Call went through, you'll be catching a ride with us, ther'- a sudden explosion sounded off, fire shot out of the apartment block followed by an explosive sound, Aradi turned around and looked in a state of shock, the crowd was in a state of shock for a moment before panicking, she quickly ran. Derlo ran with her, he placed his hand on the walkie. Debris hit the drop ship as well as glass shattering from the windows exploding, shards hitting the crowd and everything in its area,
"Drone, enforce crowd control!" she shouted, the Elf turned to her Private,
"Captain Berk, get that ship away from the building! Now!" Derlo yelled, the dropship turned on, its thrusters on low power, it hovered away from the building. Aradi yelled at Sidko,
"Wait out here!" - as she ran to the apartment, she quickly patched into the communications network. The drone began shooting plasma needles at the crowd to back them up. The plasma needles aren't lethal in the dose that were being fired at, enough to go through clothes, and give burns that probably required some ice packs.
"This is Antara-Zero in Class C, I got multiple Ten Fifty Fours, officers included and a Code Thirteen, Gordara street, Block Three!" She said. Aradi came to the entrance of the building, the intensity of the flame caused her to try and create a makeshift shield with her arms, Unfortunately she couldn't even get passed the top of the steps, she heard screaming inside the building, she went on her Protectorate Device,
"Zeta 1, get in there, and scan for survivors!"
"heat intensity poses an over sixty two per-
"SHUT UP and get in there!!" She shouted,
Aradi looked up to see flames coming out of the windows, the waving red arms of fire stretched to the sky twisting itself with the dark choking smoke. She looked back to the door. She made a face of reluctance, she leapt through the fire and ran down the hall. Her skin felt the heat, a peeling sensation began. Suddenly she saw a small figure, engulfed by flame, standing. Her eyes widened.
Zzarr stood hunched over, flames invoking their presence on every part of her body. It must've happened so fast she didn't realize it until it was too late, the body place its hand on the wall as it was slowly brought down by the force of gravity. Aradi was still as the body, nearly petrified, she had never seen this level of death since she was a child. But something caught her eye. As they peered up to the end of the hall, an individual wearing ripped clothing stood staring right at her, it had no fear of fire, it wore a thick torn brown stained colored poncho, a grey long sleeve, light green pants, its face was covered up by a strange metal, it wore a scarf and a strange looking hat, only its glowing orange eyes eyes could be seen, it turned to its right and ran, Aradi's eyes were widened, she couldn't believe what she saw,
A...Marauder?....
The Elf pulled herself together, she then ran through the fire as fast as she could, which was, actually, incredibly fast by most standards. She drew her pistol as she went through the alley way, but as she came around the corner, there was nothing, not a single soul in sight, her fist tightened, but she continued her duty,
"Drones, status update" she asked,
"Scan ninety percent complete, no survivors" "crowd control complete" they said, she could hear sirens in the distance,
Aradi put her gun away,
"Come out Fido, Sidko, how are things looking?" she asked,
"Lieutenant!? I don't know what to do out here oh shit! Come to the front!" Sidko shouted. She turned and quickly ran through the side of the building ducking beneath the exiting smoke. The smell of melting metal filled the air space in the alley, it left a gross taste in her mouth, as she turned the corner, she saw several Citizens exiting the building.....on fire, they were running rampant through the street.
They were running to civilians, to vehicles, they weren't thinking straight at all, how could they? Their vision blurred by a fiery pain, their bodies engulfed by flames lashed upon them by an impending death.
There wasn't much other option, her heart raced as she saw one of the silhouettes of fire crash into the van window, breaking through, screams could be heard,
The Council must be protected
"OPEN FIRE, SIDKO,!" Aradi yelled as she took aim, Sidko stared wide eyed at one running at him screaming in pain, gunshots were fired, the flaming individual fell to the ground, reporters were shocked at what they just saw, but realized that there really wasn't any other option, for some of the civilians were running right at them, even at their vehicle, Sidko couldn't believe what he heard, an order to fire on civilians....but as another came at him in a flurry of panic, he raised his weapon,
"S-stop! Calm down - Please! I don't..."
The individual ignored his commands and continued running at him. His finger then tugged on the trigger, bullets rang out, just then a Fire Prevention Cruiser turned the corner quickly followed by ambulances, water was jettisoned from turrets, more police units came in a furry, Aradi took a breath of relief, relaxing her posture, but as she saw some of the bodies that had been taken down by her hand, she closed her eyes for a moment, and took a deep breath, basking in the notion that the Council remained intact.
As more officers came about and began securing the area, Aradi put her gun away and sat down on the curb next to Sidko, who was in complete shock at the event. They both said absolutely nothing to each other, the two just stared at the emergency responders performing their work. Fido floated to the two officers who sat in defeat,
"Scan complete, there were no survivors"
Sidko then broke the silence,
"Where's Zzarr?" he asked faintly as he looked at Aradi, the drone spoke for her,
"Private Zzarr has been terminated. Council law decrees that the corpse will be dusted and collected for fertilizer to serve yet again under the Council's glory"
Sidko ironically chuckled a bit, he smirked and shook his head, then looked up at the other Officers running about, his smile dropped and his eyes became watery.
