There was a time when we were happy-free from worries, free from responsibilities. In that time you were all that mattered, all I thought of, all I lived for. But as they say, nothing good lasts forever.
I still wonder why it had to end this way, you and I, pitted against each other, fighting for what we believe in. It does not last forever right? Then why does it feel like the opposite. Why does this bad feeling have to go on forever?
"I don't remember you being able to see" she finally said, after a long, heavy stare. "Seems like you got your sight back."
"Yes, I did' I replied. "I also don't remember you being at ease with the idea of ending people's lives innocent ones, to be precise."
She scoffed at my remark, but I pressed on. "But here we are, I see, and you kill."
We stared at each other amidst the chaos, each waiting for the other to make the first move. Our gazes piecing, daring.
KHITHANAH
They say vengeance is cruel, wicked-something you stay far away from. I don't see it that way. If revenge can carve out the justice this world owes me, then I'll walk that dark road, no matter the cost. This evil has to end.
Khithanah and Dharen grew up together-friends, maybe lovers-until life tore them apart. Years later Khithanah returns to Skakeria, hungry for revenge against the rulers who left her orphaned. The city's shadows stir old memories, and Dharen reappears with a promise: "I'll find a way. I've always loved you."
Will vengeance consume her, or will love be the key she can't resist? Dive in and see if two broken hearts can rewrite the city's cruel fate.
