The Horizon of the Wasteland shuddered. Three silhouettes hung suspended above the waves of space.

The Shadow stirred first. Its vortices coiled inward, slow and deliberate.

“Something moved below,” it whispered, alert but unsurprised.

Beside it, the Stone Guardian cradled a crystalline sphere in its palms. The long-frozen pattern inside flickered once. A thin golden vein cut through the dark.

The Flame rose higher, restless heat shimmering.

“The knot was not supposed to breathe,” it said.

The Stone Guardian gazed into the sphere. The golden thread flared again.

“The seal has cracked,” it said. “The time has come.”

The Flame twisted, wrapping the empty space.

“She will feel it.”

The Shadow drifted, its edges thinning.

“But not them,” it murmured. “Only the trace.”

The Stone Guardian slowly covered the sphere with its palm.

“The rules remain the same. We watch.”

There was no doubt in the voice. It was law, not choice.

The Horizon closed again, hiding the tremor in its bottomless depths.

The light in the sphere faded. A new line appeared in the pattern.
