Chapter 3: The Earthquake – Explosion and Destruction
Chapter 3: The Earthquake – Explosion and Destruction
Jan 14, 2026
The world was in utter chaos. Everyone was terrified, screams echoed through the air, the sky had darkened in everyone’s eyes, and the sound of lightning and thunder shook the entire place.
Zokaro looked out the window, as if witnessing the end of the world before him. He didn’t understand what was happening, until he began to hear his mother and father screaming behind the door.
He rushed toward it and opened it slowly, but before he could say a word, his mother shouted:
“Where have you been when I was calling you? Don’t you see the chaos outside? Quickly, put on your clothes—we must leave immediately!”
His father and mother rushed down the stairs, while Zokaro began gathering the essentials he would need in his backpack, putting on his clothes quickly.
He carried his backpack on his back, but before leaving the room, the ground shook violently, and he saw a crack forming in the house.
The ceiling of his room collapsed in front of him. He miraculously survived the rubble, and then he heard his mother calling out.
Suddenly, a glowing red light, like burning fire, shot up from the ground, reaching the horizon of the red clouds.
Zokaro’s eyes widened in disbelief at what he was witnessing. He ran down the stairs and rushed out of the house, seeing his father carrying luggage into the car.
Zokaro quickly helped, but the air around them was scorching, and the temperature rose dramatically.
A powerful bright glow, combined with intense heat, spread across the area. Everyone turned back in shock, as the ground beneath them began to crack.
His mother, Rinma, shouted: “Start the car quickly, Zokaro! Put everything in fast!”
Zokaro pulled his younger sister into the back seat, his mother took the front seat, and Zokaro started the car quickly, speeding down the street, though the roads were fully congested.
He tried maneuvering through the alleys, but the surrounding houses were collapsing completely, and the ground was splitting with debris shooting upward.
The glowing eruption from the ground rose in front of them, destroying everything around. Zokaro watched in disbelief.
He remembered all he had done, where he had spent his childhood, adolescence, and youth, with dreams and ambitions that led nowhere.
Everything he had wanted to reach seemed lost, etched only in the memories and dreams of his childhood. Then, he witnessed a massive fiery sphere emerging from behind the red clouds, heading straight for the ground. Everyone around panicked and fled helplessly.
The car sped wildly, crashing into other vehicles. The ground beneath lifted, throwing the car off balance until it flipped onto its roof.
Everyone lost consciousness. Zokaro was surrounded by darkness, unable to see, calling for his mother and father, but no one answered—only his own voice echoed through the void.
A few moments later, he heard a voice calling his name from the darkness: “Zokaro… Zokaro…”
He could clearly hear his mother’s voice along with a white light illuminating the area. Zokaro slowly opened his eyes, finding his head down and his legs up, still held by the seatbelt.
His mother, Rinma, asked: “Zokaro, Kalia, are you alright?”
He answered: “Yes.”
Their father, Daskor, told them: “Slowly unbuckle your seatbelt so you don’t fall hard or get cut by the glass.”
Zokaro pulled the belt slowly, but it was tightly fastened. Pulling with force, he fell to the side, scraping his back against the car glass debris.
They exited the car slowly, standing together. His mother noticed Zokaro’s injured back and screamed in panic:
“Zokaro! You’re bleeding!”
Everyone looked at him. Zokaro tried to reassure them: “It’s okay, just a small wound… but now, where should we run?”
His father, Daskor, said: “We must run, away from the danger.”
They all ran forcefully through the crowd. Kalia held her mother, Rinma, and with each step, their breaths quickened. Zokaro glanced back for a moment and saw the fiery sphere approaching the ground, making his body tremble.
A massive explosion erupted, melting everything around. Zokaro tried to run toward his sister and parents behind him, but his steps slowed. Everything around him began to disappear.
He shouted with all his strength: “Mom… Dad… Kaliaaaa!”
The world ended the moment his story became real.
Zokaro was a failed novelist who poured his life into a world no one cared to read.
After finishing his story, he believed everything was finally over.
Then the world collapsed.
When he opened his eyes again, he was no longer who he once was—
reborn into the very world he had created, surrounded by familiar faces that were no longer the same.
Monsters he once imagined now roam freely.
Characters he wrote now shape reality.
And the ending he knows is one where no one survives.
Armed with forbidden knowledge, a body that refuses to break,
and a darkness that slowly awakens within him,
Zokaro must decide whether to follow the fate he wrote—
or destroy the world again to rewrite it.
