Accidentally The Idol's Bodyguard

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Jan 13, 2026

"Crap! How the hell is it already half past 7?!" Zhang Kaiwen quickly grabbed his luggage the taxi trunk, "Stupid-- traffic" he grunted, dropping the luggage onto the ground.

"Sir, do you need any help?" the taxi driver got out of the car.

"No, no-- it's all good," Kaiwen reassured the driver, hauling another luggage from out the tight space, "Sorry-- we had to squeeze all my shit into the back of your little van here."

"Oh, not to worry. I'm sorry about having to drop you off a terminal short," the driver said.

"Don't worry about it, Mr. Hao. At this rate, it'll be faster if I just run to Terminal 3 from here."

"You know how traffic is in Shanghai."

"Yup-- And it's going to be way worse in Los Angeles," Kaiwen closed the trunk door and grabbed the handles of his luggage, "Thanks again, Mr. Hao! Have a good night!" he said, running off into the airport at full speed.

"E-Excuse me! I have a flight leaving me in less than an hour!" he shouted, manevuering through the oddly crowded airport. Swerving left, then right, letting a luggage roll behind him and one in the front to sneak through narrow gaps of people-- it was like a sport.

He swooped by big glowing billboards, a handsome idol flashed across the sceen, his heart shaped lips curled into a cute smile as he advertised a popular Korean shampoo.

Kaiwen quickly bypassed the line for baggage check and quickly made his way over to security. "Left, right, straight, then left. Left, right, straight, then left...Then you'll see security" he muttered to himself, "So why the hell isn't security here?!" He stopped in his tracks and looked around, "Actually, why isn't anybody here?!"

"I swear I followed the signs..." Kaiwen said walking to the nearest map on the wall, "It's a goddamn maze in here. Shit, I'm not good with maps." He studied the map's legend and looked at his surroundings to figure out where he had to go, "Okay, left? Yeah, I have to go left from here. I think. But didn't I already go that way?!"

Kaiwen looked at his watch: 7:55pm. "Well, shit. I can't just stand here," he began sprinting towards what he hoped was the right direction. From closely behind him, he heard footsteps matching his brisk pace. Suddenly, another man was sprinting next to him. As tall as Kaiwen, messy blonde hair, and a black mask. The man's long black coat fluttered behind him as he ran past Kaiwen.

"Hey, you gonna be late for your flight too?!"  Kaiwen shouted after him and quickened his speed to run up beside him, "Is this the way to security? I'm lost as hell so I'm hoping you know." The man just stared at him, a certain fear glimmered in his big eyes. It took Kaiwen aback, "H-Hey! Sir? I'm following you right now, you know?!"
He heard the faint screaming of girls and loud footsteps from behind him. It grew louder. He turned his head around and noticed the gaggle of girls that were running towards him. They all wore big, messy smiles and crazed eyes. It creeped Kaiwen out and he ran faster.

"Sir?! Why the hell is everyone running this way?! Is everyone catching a flight or is there a shooter in here?!" Kaiwen quickly caught up to the blonde haired man. The man continued running, not even looking back at Kaiwen, "They're here for me" he said in a low voice-- almost ominously.

"What?! What do you mean 'they're here for you'?!" Kaiwen exclaimed, "You're kinda scaring me, man."

"Don't worry. This is the way to security. When's your flight leaving?"

"8:30. I'm heading to the City of Angels. You?"

"Los Angeles, right? Same here." The man chuckled.

"Yeah. The traffic getting here was absolutely insane," Kaiwen groaned, "I left almost two hours ago, you know?!"

The man let out a small laugh, "Yeah, sorry about that."

"What're you apologizing for? It wasn't your fault," Kaiwen chuckled.

"Well, I can't say I didn't have a part in it."

"What do you mean-"

Suddenly, a girl randomly screamed from behind them, "Mr. Swoon! Mr. Swoon! I love you!" They were catching up-- and faster than ever. Their combined footsteps sounded like a downpour of rain during a thunderstorm. Kaiwen looked behind him: they were screaming and laughing and yelling and crying-- all at the same time.

"What in the hell?! Why are these girls still here?!"

"Quick! The elevator is just to the right. Hurry!" the man asserted, a hint of fear quivered in his voice. Kaiwen followed closely behind him.

The girls were closing in close behind them. Kaiwen looked back and noticed that they held signs and fans with a familiar logo on it. Was it a sports logo? But it was too cute and bubbly. Maybe an anime logo?

"Mr. Swoon! Please come sign this for me!"

"Yoonie please take a picture with me!"

"I love you Swoonie please get married to me!"

"Geez, what kind of nonsense are these girls even saying?!" Kaiwen blurted. "Mr. Swoon," that named clicked with him. But how does he know it? Suddenly, a girl shoved past him and ran towards the blonde haired man.

"Oppa, I'm your number one fan! I came here to see you!" She exclaimed, reaching out her arms to hug him. The man quickly dodged it and quickly rushed to the elevator and slammed the buttons. "Oppa, why are you ignoring me?!" she bickered, crossing her arms in almost childish way.

"No, no. I'm really sorry. I just have to catch my flight right away. I promise I will spend more time with all of you when I come back," the man said calmly, yet his body was practicalling hugging the elevator door.

"Oppa, you're so sexy when you talk to us like that!" The woman lunged herself towards the man, until Kaiwen stepped in and grabbed the woman's arm.

"Excuse me. Why are you harassing this guy? He's not interested," Kaiwen asserted, pulling her away from him. He stood in front of the blonde man and tried to get the other screaming girls to back away. He rolled up his sleeves, revealing his hefty biceps that could easily crack an egg if he curled them. Some girls tried to reach out to touch the blonde haired man, others waved their cameras in the boys' faces.
"Hey! Could y'all relax on the flash? I'm gonna go blind at this rate!"
Kaiwen tried as best he could to keep them away. The blonde man couldn't help but notice Kaiwen's thick arm muscles splayed out across for him to see-- a perfect view. Suddenly, the elevator announced its arrival with a ding. The blonde man-- whose back was completely up against those elevators-- noticed his support suddenly slip away. He felt himself lose his balance and fall backwards, until a strong grip seized his wrist. A brawny presence suddenly forced him up on his feet and backed him up against the elevator wall. Kaiwen was in the elevator with him, his back hiding the blonde man from the girl's sight. He spammed the elevator buttons, but girls kept trying to enter the elevator and preventing the door from closing.

"Ladies, ladies. I know we're both handsome, but we gotta catch a flight! I'm gonna charge your bank accounts if I miss it!" He said, pushing them away from the doors. Actual security guards finally showed up and began pulling the women away from the elevator. The screaming suddenly disappeared as the doors closed and silence filled in elevator. There was a pause. Kaiwen looked at the mirrors surrounding them in the elevator. He was covered in sweat, nearly squishing the blonde man against the wall.

"Woah. Sorry, man. That was insane." Kaiwen chuckled awkwardly, moving away from him.

"N-No... I'm sorry that you had to deal with that." The man breathed, straightening his posture and fixing up his round, silver glasses, "That took away the rest of my battery..." He removed his mask and took deep breaths, taking out his phone and typing away. His lips were thin and heart shaped, and although he just ran a mini marathon, it was as if he sweated perfume.

"Yeah. I'm going to sleep the whole flight," Kaiwen rested his back against the mirror, instantly fogging it up. The door suddenly opened, "Wait, what floor are we?"

"Two. We were supposed to go down to G."

"Oh? My bad... I was so caught up in the crowd I ended up clicking random elevator buttons," Kaiwen chuckled, clicking the ground floor button, but it wouldn't light up.

"C'mon-- hello? Why isn't it working?"

The blonde man pointed at the other lit up buttons, "We still have three more floors to go before we can go back down."

Kaiwen noticed he accidentally clicked floors 3 and 4. They both stared blankly at each other before they burst into laughter.

"Don't worry. I could use a bit of a break in here," the blonde man smiled, revealing the dimples on his cheeks.

"Same here. Just finished my workout for the day," Kaiwen joked, stretching out his arms as if preparing to exercise. The blonde man snickered and faced the mirror to fix up his appearance. Kaiwen noticed his curly blonde hair that perfectly cupped his V-Shaped face. He really was a handsome man. Almost too handsome.

"Hey, so those girls. They were yelling out some pretty crazy stuff. Would you happen to know anything about that? You know, you said that they were 'here for me' or something."

"Ah, yes. They were here for me."

Kaiwen waited for a bit, expecting for him to expand a bit more.

"Oh-- that's cool. Are you a famous actor or something? Some of them were holding a sign with this cute logo on it. I think it said something like B.R something?"

"Oh. That's my group name."

"Your group name? What do you mean?"

The elevator door opened and the blonde man approached Kaiwen, standing in front of him.

"Idol boy group. BEAR-X," he drew closer to Kaiwen, "I'm part of it," he looked at him in the eye. He then turned toward the elevator buttons right next to them and pressed "G."

"We can go down now," he said, putting on his mask again.

"O-Oh. Right." Kaiwen said, taken aback by the sudden mini staring contest he just had with this angelic looking man.

"Wait... BEAR-X...?" he murmured, trying to remember the name. "BEAR-X! BEAR-X's MR. SWOON?!" He suddenly burst out.

"Yes. It's a secret though," the man winked at him and Kaiwen's stomach fluttered for a bit.

"Ground Floor" the elevator announced. Kaiwen got in front of the blonde man, but when the elevator doors opened, they were instantly greeted by security guards. They practically yanked Kaiwen out of the elevator and swarmed the blonde man instantly.

"Mr. Yoon, are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"
"I sincerely apologize for the delay in protection, Mr. Yoon. Is there a certain upgrade you desire for your flight to LA?"
"Mr. Yoon, your private security check is this way."

"H-Hey! Relax! Relax" Kaiwen shook his arms to get rid of the bodyguards grabbing him.

"Thank you, everyone," the blonde man, Mr. Yoon, turned his head to Kaiwen "Please, be careful with him," he smiled charmingly, and almost a little mischeviously, "He's my new bodyguard."
