It's kind of hard not to be at least a little obsessed with someone who psychologically manipulated you, and then you just boxed up all that trauma when she was dead, and now she's not dead, and all your trauma is spilling everywhere, and she psychologically manipulated your daughter to get to you (though thankfully to a lesser degree), and she is literally drawing magical power from you currently to do terrible things...
