The World After Its End: Rewritten

Chapter 4: The End of the World

Chapter 4: The End of the World

Jan 16, 2026

A thunderous explosion swept across the entire world, shaking the earth to its core. In that moment, Zokaro tried to turn back to look for his parents and his sister, as they were slower than him while running. That was the moment he witnessed their end.

He could not understand what was happening. All he saw was the temperature of the air rising to an unbearable level, flames twisting around him, burning everything and turning all that surrounded him into dust.

He saw his only family vanish before his eyes without a trace. He screamed and tried to run, but it was useless. In those few seconds, he wished with all his heart that this was nothing more than a nightmare.

He slowly closed his eyes as he saw his hand beginning to disappear, then he collapsed to the ground. Destruction engulfed the entire world, and there was no one left. The earth became a barren wasteland, as if life had never existed there before.

High above, the sky was red like blood, and the sun was black, as if filled with hatred. The land was dry and cracked, the air heavy, and the atmosphere polluted with carbon monoxide.

Yet, in the middle of this ruined world, there was still one person alive. Zokaro lay on the ground, with nothing around him but devastation.

He slowly opened his eyes, unable to comprehend what had happened. He tried to understand the situation, but in vain. Sky, sun, earth—nothing but emptiness. His right hand had completely vanished; nothing remained except the lower part near his shoulder.

He stood on his feet and screamed with all his strength, calling for his parents and his sister, but there was no answer. He screamed until his voice gave out, and tears streamed down his face as he cried.

At that moment, he lost all hope in life. He felt that he had no chance left—no existence, no identity, no freedom. Everything he was had been stripped away.

He fell to his knees and slammed his head against the ground, crying and screaming in grief for those he had lost.

Then, moments later, from behind the red clouds, a powerful white light appeared. From that dazzling glow emerged strange beings—three of them. They wore long blue robes, had flat faces with sharp gazes, long ears, and long blue hair.

One of them stood before Zokaro, staring at him with an eerie look, and said:
“How foolish humans are, clinging to life… but this is the end, and the time of your exile has come.”

Zokaro looked at him with bloodshot eyes, filled with hatred toward himself for being the only one left alive. He wanted nothing more than something upon which to unleash his rage.

Another one stepped forward and said:
“He is still alive. How strange.”

Zokaro stood on his feet and asked:
“Who are you?”

One of the beings replied:
“We are the Nashun people, the strongest race. We came to end human life and remake it according to the evolution of our race, placing them under our command.”

Zokaro laughed hysterically, like a madman.
“So you did all of this… just to rule over humans?”

One of the beings answered:
“Yes, you are correct.”

Zokaro said mockingly:
“How ridiculous… Do you think I am a fool, you wretches?”

One of the beings replied coldly:
“Your opinion does not matter, human. But we received information that you are the thinker of the world we will establish. Therefore, you must die, unlike the others.”

Zokaro stared at him in confusion.
“What nonsense are you talking about? After everything that happened and everyone disappearing, you tell me I must die while the rest are gone? You fool.”

One of the beings said:
“I did not wish to introduce myself, but I will tell you our king’s purpose—and what we will do to the human race.

My name is Raibo. The ones with me are Kalka and Rabo.

The truth is, your people did not die. We gathered them in another dimension, where they will exist under our control. Our king seeks to rule all living races in the universe and name himself the Emperor of the Universe.

All will be under his command. Years ago, we discovered the human race and began analyzing their thoughts and lives. Their obsession with power and reaching the top intrigued us. But one thing inspired us above all—you.

You are the one whose thoughts, if driven by the pursuit of power and survival, could bring about the end of the world. Therefore, your mind will shape the new world.”

Zokaro was shocked, unable to understand what he was hearing or what was happening. But one thing was clear to him—

His world had ended completely.

The world ended the moment his story became real.
Zokaro was a failed novelist who poured his life into a world no one cared to read.
After finishing his story, he believed everything was finally over.
Then the world collapsed.
When he opened his eyes again, he was no longer who he once was—
reborn into the very world he had created, surrounded by familiar faces that were no longer the same.
Monsters he once imagined now roam freely.
Characters he wrote now shape reality.
And the ending he knows is one where no one survives.
Armed with forbidden knowledge, a body that refuses to break,
and a darkness that slowly awakens within him,
Zokaro must decide whether to follow the fate he wrote—
or destroy the world again to rewrite it.
