Chapter 16 – First Attack (Part 1)

Our friends sat scattered around the inventor’s laboratory, the room heavy with silence. No one spoke. No one moved.

Sun-Z was the last to finish.

She swayed slightly as she stood up, instinctively leaning on Nathan’s shoulder. Her eyes widened in disbelief.

Sun-Z:
“No way…”

Shadowlight, leaning lazily against one of the metal pipes, straightened at once.

Shadowlight:
“Hey—are you okay?”

Sun-Z exhaled slowly, steadying herself.

Sun-Z:
“Yeah… I think so.”

Shadowlight tilted his head, studying her face.

Shadowlight:
“So… what’s your name?”

She hesitated—then smiled faintly.

Sun-Z:
“My name is Lisa Kate.”

Shadowlight’s lips curved into a grin.

Shadowlight:
“Nice to meet you. I’m Jacob Malfoy.but you can call me Jake.”

Lisa blinked.

Lisa:
“jake”

Jacob:
"It's probably not easy for everyone to get their memories back. It's a bit of a shock, especially when you're getting your memories back all at once and you find yourself in this place."

Nathan watched them carefully, surprised by how composed Jake seemed.

Nathan:
“I’m honestly shocked… You’re taking this better than the others.”

Jake shrugged, his voice calm—too calm.

Jake:
“Memories belong to the past. I can’t change what already happened.”

To both Lisa and Nathan, something felt different.
Jake wasn’t the reckless boy they knew anymore. His tone was measured. His gaze distant.

Lisa glanced at Emily.

Emily sat slightly apart from the others, silent, her eyes lowered.

The inventor cleared his throat sharply.

Inventor:
“Now that you’ve regained your memories, I expect you to honor our agreement. Leave. Immediately.”

Jake nodded.

Jake:
“Don’t worry. We haven’t forgotten.”

Without another word, they stood and headed for the door.

Nathan lingered behind them, watching.
No one turned back.

When the door finally closed, he rested his hand against it for a moment… then slowly lowered his head.

Outside, the village felt strangely quiet.

They walked together in uneasy silence.

Jake:
“Now that we remember everything… what do we do about Mr. White?”

Black Storm’s expression hardened.

Black Storm:
“We’re almost certain he’s involved in our abduction. But I don’t think he’s the one in charge. More like a supervisor—someone overseeing the experiment from here.but still i need figure it out.. was it random?”

Lisa stopped walking.

Lisa:
“It wasn’t random.”

Everyone turned to her.

Lisa:
“When I remember waking up… Mr. White was there. With doctors. Assistants. The place wasn’t simple—it was advanced. Even the men who took us weren’t ordinary criminals. They were organized.”

Jake frowned.

Jake:
“So we were chosen? based on what?”

Black Storm nodded slowly.

Black Storm:
“Most likely because of our bodies… our potential. And maybe because of our social status. No one would look for us. No missing reports. No noise.”

Jake and Lisa fell silent.

Emily finally spoke, her voice quiet but steady.

Emily:
“Lisa and I were taken near our school. Men in black suits. It felt… planned. Like they were waiting.”

Black Storm clenched his jaw.

Black Storm:
“I was in a car with people who claimed they were escorting me to a science competition. Same black uniforms.”

Jake exhaled.

Jake:
“I was at boarding school. They came to ‘pick me up.’ That’s all I remember.”

A pause.

Black Storm:
“We can’t let Mr. White know we’ve regained our memories. I need access to his systems first. If we’re being monitored, one wrong move could expose everything.”

Jake nodded.

Jake:
“Agreed.”

As they made their way back toward Mr. White’s house, Lisa slowed her pace, falling beside Emily.

Lisa (brightly):
“Can you believe it, Emily? We’re actually living the adventure we used to dream about.”

Emily nodded faintly.

Emily:
“Yeah…”

Lisa:
“I mean—sure, it’s scary. And I don’t know what they did to our bodies. But still we have superpowers now.And  the best part is that we're on this adventure together!"

She placed a hand on Emily’s shoulder.

Emily slapped it away.

Lisa froze.

Up ahead, the boys sensed the shift but kept walking.

Black Storm (whispering):
“Should we… stop them?”

Jake (low voice):
“No. Trust me. Getting between girls fight right now is suicidal.”

Behind them—

Lisa:
“I don’t understand you, Emily! Why are you mad at me? Did I do something wrong? Why won’t you just tell me?”

Emily stopped walking.

Emily:
“I don’t need to tell you anything.”

Lisa:
“Then how am I supposed to know what’s wrong?!”

Silence.

Lisa:
“Is this about Meg and the others? If you didn’t want me to be friends with them, you could’ve said so!”

Emily’s voice cracked.

Emily:
“I don’t get to decide who you’re friends with.”

Lisa:
“Then why are you so angry?!”

Emily turned, her eyes burning.

Emily:
“Because I hate them. How can you laugh with people who bullied me? Who enjoyed humiliating me?”

Lisa:
“They’ve changed!”

Emily:
“No, they haven't, but you're too blind to see it!!... It's you who enjoys hanging out with those kind of girls!!... so whenever I see you, I remember every word they said to me..”

Lisa snapped.

Lisa:
“Fine! I’ll stop talking to them. I’ll leave them completely. Will that finally satisfy you, child?!”

All of sudden.. Emily shoved her Hard.

Lisa fell to the ground, scraping her hand against the dirt.

making the rest of her friends stopped.

Jake:
“Emily—what are you doing?!”

Black Storm:
“That was too far!”

Emily brushed the dirt from her clothes without looking back.

Lisa screamed.

Lisa:
“I hate you! You’re selfish! Violent! You never like anything—I'm tired of you! I don’t want anything to do with you anymore!”

Black Storm stepped forward.

Black Storm:
“That’s enough!”

Emily lowered her head… then walked away.

Jake helped Lisa up.

Black Storm (quietly):
“You shouldn't said that!..Some words can’t be taken back.”

As they walked on, Lisa noticed something behind them—a faint trail of smoke.

She turned.

A dead snake lay curled near the road, its body scorched black.

Lisa swallowed.

She wasn’t attacking me…
She was protecting me.

Guilt settled heavily in her chest—but she said nothing.

while infront the boys whispers to each other.

Suddenly—

BOOM!

The ground shook violently.

Smoke rose from the village.

Jake:
“…What now?”

Black Storm’s face hardened.

Black Storm:
“The village is under attack!! let's go!”

They took off instantly.

But Jake hesitated—his body tensing.

Jake:
“…Wait. What is that feeling?”
