"Lets get this meeting started" Devin said as he strolled in. He came and stood beside Darevin. With both of them standing behind me I felt a wave of calm wash over me. Then it vanished when about ten other wolves followed him in. 

"What is this about Dare? It's the middle of the day?" A tall brunette shewolf said with a bit more attitude than was probably proper when addressing an alpha. 

"Everyone stop your grumbling. Shut the door Theo." Darevin said as he calmly stood behind me. I guess that was how he was usually greeted by her. The wolf Darevin talked to walked over and shut the door. "Lock it as well."

"Alright now you've got my attention, son." A wolf who had a striking resemblance to my mates said. Did he just say son?

"Alright I'd like to start off by saying everything we tell you in this room stays in this room. You are not to speak of it outside this room at all whether it is with me or another wolf. It is highly confidentional. If I find out that any of you were to speak of this meeting let's just say there will be severe consequences." Darevin said. I could tell he was using his alpha voice to convey just how important this meeting was going to be. 

"Yes Alpha, we understand." Everyone said as they took a seat around the table. 

"Alright then. Now we can start the meeting. This beautiful shewolf is our mate. Her name is-" Darevin was rudely cut off by the brunette wolf.

"Our?! What do you mean our?" She seemed enraged. Maybe even jealous. I wasn't so sure she should be trusted. I looked up at Devin trying to convey what I desperately wish I could say through a mindlink. What I saw was kind of scary. He was almost snarling at the shewolf. His teeth had changed to fangs as he bared them at her.

"SILENCE!" It was a roar from Darevin that snapped me out of my staring. "Will kindly escort Bethany down to the dungeon. A blonde body builder looking wolf got up nodding at Darevin. "Thank you. We will wait until you get back to start."

The door clicked shut with Bethany screaming and yelling profanities about me. Thankfully with the click she was cut off. An awkward silence stretched out. Or at least awkward for me. I couldn't stop squirming. It felt like it was my fault. My fault that Bethany was now in the dungeons. My fault that she made an outburst and was kicked out of the room.

"Calm down for me Sunshine. Everything is okay." Devin said lightly rubbing my shoulder.

"Was that my fault?" I had to ask. Had to know.

"No Sunshine it wasn't your fault at all. We kind of expected her to react that way we just needed to know for sure. Out of all the wolves in our trusted circle she would be the one to compromise your safety because she's always had a bit of an unhealthy obsession with the two of us."

"Okay." I coudl tell my voice was barely a whisper. Maybe she was more deserving to be their mate. I was just a broken and beaten wolf with no family and no pack. 

The door opened and Will walked in closing and locking the door behind himself.

"Alright back to what I was saying. Sunny is our mate. Devin came across her at Crystal Lake a day and a half ago. We thought she was a rogue. She hadn't turned 18 until today so we didn't know at the time that she was our mate. Sunny could potentially have a pack coming after her. They are not to be trusted. Nor do I want anyone to have any contact with them at all. She was tortured from birth in that pack and has been on the run for eight years. She is now with us. She is your future Luna and should be treated as such. Her safety is your top priority."

I tried to smile but, I think it was more of a grimace.

"Are we allowed to ask questions?" A different wolf asked.

"Yes Thomas go ahead." Devin said.

"What pack?" Thomas asked.

They both looked at me for confirmation to share that detail. If they trusted the people in this room then I needed to do the same. I nodded gently at them.

"Blood Sin Pack." Darevin said. His tone dark. 

"That pack is full of barbarians. None of us would ever contact them for any reason, Alpha." Thomas said sternly. And I belived him.

"So, Dad are you gonna say anything?" Devin asked looking tentively towards their father. 

"Well I would have rather been informed earlier but, I also understand. You've got yourselves one tough mate to have survived out there for so long. You both better protect her."

"We plan to. Now that we got that information out I need to ask a favor of all of you. We will gather the pack for a formal introduction tomorrow evening. I need all of you to scan the pack for anyone who shows any recognition to Sunny. We've had a lot of new members in the last several years and I want to make sure none of them are from her past pack. I do not under any circumstances want word to get back to her former 'alpha' if we can call him that."

"Yes Alpha!" Everyone said.

"We will serve and protect the future Luna of our pack!" A different she wolf said. This one was a blonde with three large scratches across her face. She must be quite the warrior.

"Thank you Talia. We appreciate it." Devin said. This meeting might have been the most serious I've ever seen him. Although he was pretty serious when he said he was going to kill me if I was a rogue when we met in the woods.

"Everyone is dismissed." Darevin said. Everyone slowly filed out. Everyone except their father. Was this going to be when he said they need to reject me? That I was a filthy rogue that would only taint their blood line?

"What plans are you putting in place to keep her safe?" He asked. Well that's surprising. You don't typically ask that about someone you want off your land.

"We intend to move her into my room so we can protect her at night. We can easily all fit in there. I already have a couple wolves taking an extra couch up there as we speak. During the day one of us will be with her at all times until we figure out how badly this piece of shit alpha wants her back." Darevin said

"Badly." I said barely above a whisper.

"We will keep you safe Little Wolf." Darevin said.

"You know your mother is going to want to meet her. You should also probably have the pack doctor do a full work up on her as well. Make sure there isn't anything going on under the surface." Their dad said.

"We will go ahead and get the doctor appointment out of the way as for mom, why don't you two come here for dinner. That way Sunny is somewhere familiar." Darevin said. I didn't like the sound of seeing the pack doctor. The pack doctor at Blood Sin was sadistic and mean. When dressing any of my wounds he would cause as much pain as possible. The smell of that place never left my memory. It was filled with sorrow and despair and the smell of bleach.

"Well alright then. I'll see you three tonight then. Mindlink me if you need me." He said and walked out of the conference room closing the door behind him. 

I could finally breathe a sigh of relief. Although relief was the last thing I was about to feel.
