My Pointlessly Boring Life

Ever

Ever

Jan 21, 2026

If this was a normal story, it'd start with something unexpected or exciting. Some event or moment to catch the reader's attention. But this is not such a story. This tale is quite a boring one.
Thus it starts not with action and adventure, but a normal, boring person walking the aisles of the grocery store. Of this person getting a text reminding them to pick up juice because the sender knows they haven't been drinking enough lately and no, soda doesn't count when they only have the most unhealthy brands and don't drink anything else. And water would totally be fine if they ever had any, but they'd had less water in the last year than the driest dessert had rainfall in the same timeframe.
Ever sighed. It wasn't that bad, was it? They'd even started adding more veggies to their meals so they were totally eating healthier in general. Not that it mattered all that much...
They went to the next aisle and added a few different juices to their cart. The deep red head didn't have the energy to deal with extra nagging if they didn't get any at all. Next, if soda wasn't an option, Ever was going to need a fuck ton of energy drinks to get through work this week. Might as well pick those up as well while here.
A few more things after that, and they were finally able to pay for everything and leave. Ever rolls the cart of groceries over to their bike with its small cargo trailer attached and starts loading everything in. Once done, they closed the top and put the shopping cart away.
Ever had their driver's license and even a beat-up rust bucket that could be considered a car, but... Fuel was so expensive. Upkeep appointments were such a bother to schedule. Dealing with all the other drivers on the road was annoying and just not worth it most days. Ever had dozens of reasons why they preferred not to drive unless they needed to.
Plus, biking to do errands was healthy and shit or something. Exercise and fresh air being good for the body and mind, or whatever... They didn't care as long as they could use it to decrease people bothering them about not taking care of themselves enough.
Their phone rings just as they're about to get on their bike. Ever picks up after glancing to make sure it's not another spam caller.
"What? I got the stupid juice and already checked out so I'm not going in for anything else."
"We just wanted to wish you a safe trip home... The world can be such a dangerous place at times and you never know what could happen."
Ever sighs. "I'm hanging up now. Goodbye."
They start heading home. The ride was quite peaceful, only one detour needed today. Usually they would have to go further out of their way to avoid things when going around town. Must be a particularly slow day.
Finally home, Ever only spends enough energy to put their groceries away before curling up in their pile of beanbags, pillows and blankets with the TV remote. Finished errands deserve a reward and they'd noticed a new show that sounded half decent. Some fantasy about mistaken identities and romances connected by fate itself.
They were able to get invested enough into it that they lost track of time and forgot to eat until later than normal. Overall, a pretty good show... If a bit fluffier than reality, but that's what makes it a fantasy, right?
Ever throws some low effort food in the microwave and scrolls their messages while they wait. Professional Annoyance D asked if they'd be willing to pick up extra shifts this upcoming week. More hours meant more money so Ever could suck it up and agree, they supposed... The family group chat was still going on about a cousin's baby announcement last week. They're as excited about the news as the next person, but it was like there wasn't anything else worth talking about once a new baby was mentioned and that can get old fast... Vent Partner was checking in that Ever had finished their to do list and eaten more than a protein bar today. Well, they will have after their food finishes heating up, so might as well reply yes to that one.

The totally boring and tiring life of Ever, the strongest failure one might come across. They like reading, listening to music, watching TV, and anything else that lets them not have to deal with people. They probably should be seeing a therapist; they aren't.
Honestly, they don't know why anyone would want to read a story about them. They probably live the most boring life possible.
