Song Qingge, desperate to survive, had no choice but to tell him everything she knew about the original novel.
When she was done speaking, Wei Yaozu stayed silent for a long time. At first, he didn’t believe Song Qingge’s words. How could he possibly accept that his entire world was just a story written for others' entertainment? But even if Song Qingge had been reborn, there was no way she could have known about the war between the Righteous and Demonic Sects, and his own death at the hands of Luo Jie.
In his past life, he had killed Song Qingge before any of those events had even occurred. Was this girl actually telling the truth? He himself had miraculously been reborn, so it wasn’t impossible that this girl had really come from another world…
“Hahaha- HAHAHAHA!!” A maniacal laugh escaped from Wei Yaozu’s lips as his heart filled with a mixture of anger and despair.
“So it was all for nothing then… everything I did… It was all for nothing…? Hahahaha..!”
Song Qingge shivered in fear as Wei Yaozu’s laugh echoed throughout the small room. If the villain lost his mind after learning the truth about this world and decided to destroy everything before the protagonist even had a chance to grow up, she doubted that anyone would be able to stop him.
“Don’t say that!” she shouted, “I must have been sent here to change the ending! You can’t just give up now!”
“Shut up!” Wei Yaozu snapped, “I spent my whole life trying to create a world where Shixiong and I could be together, just to find out that he was fated to kill me!” Involuntary tears began to pool in Wei Yaozu’s eyes as he spoke.
Song Qingge couldn’t help but feel a bit of pity for him. She also thought that the ending of the original novel was unfair.
“What makes you so confident that fate can be changed?!” Wei Yaozu spat angrily.
Song Qingge didn’t have an answer for him. She had only just arrived to this world, and had been operating based on the novels she had read in the past. She had no real proof that her actions could actually change the story’s plot. But if fate couldn’t be changed, she would surely die, along with Fen Wenling and countless other cultivators.
Song Qingge didn’t want to just give up.
She was going to save everyone! Even Wei Yaozu!
“Just trust me! I can help you change the ending!” These words left Song Qingge’s mouth before she had a chance to really think them through.
Wei Yaozu snorted coldly.
“How ridiculous. How can a weak girl like you be of any help to me?”
Song Qingge was silenced for a moment once again. Wei Yaozu was right, her cultivation level was low, and she didn’t have any particular talents. She didn’t even have a system to help her. The only advantage she had was her knowledge of the original novel, but since Wei Yaozu had been reborn, that knowledge wasn’t especially useful to him. The only way she could think of being useful was…
“I… I can help you make Shixiong fall for you!”
Wei Yaozu shot her a chilling glare, but Song Qingge could tell by the slight tremor of his blade that he was tempted by the offer.
“I’m from a world where men date each other all the time! And I’ve read tons of books about male-male romance! Trust me, with my help, Shixiong will definitely fall head over heels for you!”
Of course, Song Qingge didn’t have any romantic experience herself, but she did want to continue living, and the only way to do that was by exploiting Wei Yaozu’s weakness.
Sorry, Luo Jie… I’ll have to trouble you in the future, for the sake of the whole world!
“Killing me might cause problems, anyway. The entire Fenhui Sect would definitely look for me if I suddenly went missing, I’m one of Yao Huizhong’s precious disciples, after all! Can you really guarantee that Shixiong would never find out about what you did?”
Wei Yaozu grit his teeth at her words.
Killing her would indeed be troublesome… he thought
But does it really matter?
This world is just an illusion, after all.
But… Shixiong…
…It’s still the world that Shixiong lives in….
After a moment of silence, which felt like an eternity for Song Qingge, Wei Yaozu slowly lowered his sword. Song Qingge was about to let out a sigh of relief when Wei Yaozu suddenly pulled out a wicked looking curved dagger and roughly grabbed her by the wrist!
“Hey, what are you trying to do-?!” Song Qingge shouted.
She tried to pull her arm out of his grasp with all her strength, but despite Wei Yaozu’s somewhat scrawny appearance from years of malnourishment, his grip remained firm.
“Stop squirming! This dagger is my soul-bound weapon, the Fate-Controlling Dagger. I need a drop of your blood.”
“Why do you- Ow!!” Song Qingge yelped as Wei Yaozu pricked her right-index finger with the tip of his dagger.
A small drop of blood flowed out of the wound and was immediately absorbed into Wei Yaozu’s blade with a cloud of inky black mist.
“Once someone’s blood is absorbed into the Fate-Controlling Dagger, I can destroy their cultivation, or kill them at any time.” Wei Yaozu said coldly.
“So if you tell anyone else about what you know, or fail to make Shixiong fall for me, I’ll kill you right away. Do you understand?”
Song Qingge nodded vigorously.
The villain is really too terrifying!! The author never mentioned he had such a powerful weapon in the original novel!!
“It’s good that you understand.” Wei Yaozu said, feeling satisfied by the look of fear in Song Qingge’s eyes.
“Leave. Now. By tomorrow morning, I expect to hear exactly how you plan to make Shixiong fall for me.”
Song Qingge didn’t need to be told twice, and without another word she ran out of there as quickly as possible. But despite finally escaping Wei Yaozu’s grasp, her heart dropped the moment she stepped outside. The sky above was filled with the beautiful pink and orange hues of the setting sun, and night was about to fall over Zhuzi peak.
How am I supposed to come up with a plan overnight!? Wei Yaozu really is a villain!!!
