“Kill them all, Calamity… every last creature.” Hysterically screams Ari while stricken by grief. Detecting this sudden change in her demeanour, Calamity hesitates for a second. Perhaps it was the ant genes causing hesitation, but they soon were silenced. At its core, Calamity had always been a creature with one purpose: to devour others. Calamity’s body bulged and grew wildly, its exoskeleton sharpened, and Ari sank into its flesh. Without hesitation, it leapt off the anthill, leaving it crumbling. Flapping its mighty wings, Calamity catapults for Scrowl, both parties preparing combat skills.

Soaring down from the ant hill, Calamity growls while activating ‘Web Spinning Lv. 1’ and ‘Venom Cycling Lv. 1’. This combination of skills creates poisonous webs from its tentacles and mouth, which are launched towards Scrowl. Rushing forward, Scrowl emitted a glow that repelled these poisonous webs. Intending to immediately end this fight, he activated ‘Scratch Lv. 3’ and ‘Sacred Claw Lv. 2’. Leaping into the sky, Scrowl aims for Calamity as its tentacles shoot past him. Just as Scrowl was about to land his blow, Calamity’s body violently tore itself apart. Several blades of air produced from ‘Air Slash Lv. 2’ shoot at Scrowl from the split halves of Calamity. Unable to dodge, he is forced to tank the hits as Calamity reforms on the ground. Twisting himself mid-air, Scrowl looks down at Calamity. Painted across Calamity’s face was a familiar glare resembling Omori’s.

“That damn monster stole Omori’s abilities?!” howls Scrowl as his stats decrease from Omori’s ‘Intimidation Lv. 1’, which now belonged to Calamity. Tentacles rise from Calamity’s body that accelerate to pierce Scrowl while firing air slashes. Appearing from nowhere, a wolf made entirely of light attacked Scrowl’s back, sending him plummeting to the ground. Bolting out of the resulting dust cloud, he rammed Calamity, sending it tumbling backwards. Crashing into a horde of ants, Calamity recovers before using its tentacles to throw corpses. Manoeuvring around these corpse projectiles, Scrowl slashes for Calamity once again, narrowly missing as it flew into the air.
Staring upwards with a face of disdain, Scrowl mutters, “It even uses Omori’s same cowardice tactics, but that won’t matter now,” as Calamity began shooting more air slashes. Countless glowing wolves form around Scrowl, which intercept them midair. This magical collision caused small explosions, obscuring both individuals’ sight as they continued firing.

Bolting into the woodlands, Calamity circles Scrowl, uprooting a tree with its tail. ‘Instinct Lv. 3’ activates alerting Scrowl to its location. Turning his head, he sees a tree coming for him. Calamity charges under the cover of the tree, jumping over it to attack Scrowl. Biting into this tree, Scrowl uses it to land a heavy blow on Calamity’s gut. Shooting tentacles out, Calamity surrounds Scrowl, launching air slashes from every direction. Dodging the rampant air slashes, Scrowl systematically obliterates them. Gripping the ground with its tentacles, Calamity stops itself midair before launching for Scrowl. The last tentacle wraps around Scrowl, pulling him towards Calamity, causing the two to collide at high speed. Calamity’s vicious claws collide with Scrowl’s sacred claws, causing them to crack. Repelled by each other’s strength, they both land having incurred injuries. Calamity violently shakes as it begins reforming its broken claws. Not giving it a chance to regenerate, Scrowl shoots many instances of ‘Spirit Wolves Lv. 1’ at Calamity. Activating ‘Fortification Lv. 1’ allows Calamity to tank these hits but locks them in place. Shocked by Calamity’s skill, Scrowl’s rage began to grow.

“So, my generals died… and you devoured their corpses. You… monster! You won’t leave here alive!” roars Scrowl while sprinting forward. Deactivating the skill, Calamity lower its head, waiting for the right moment. Feeling the vibrations of Scrowl’s advance, Calamity began charging. Unable to stop at this distance, Scrowl had no choice but to commit, ending with him being punctured by sharp antlers. Blood dribbles down Calamity’s antlers as they dig deeper into Scrowl.
Hatefully staring down at Calamity, Scrowl thinks, “I’ll kill you, even if it costs my life!” as his power increased and wounds began healing from activating “Divine Boost Lv. 2’.

Scrowl flexes his empowered muscles, causing the antlers piercing him to snap. Landing on the ground, they slowly fall out as glowing light heals him. Everything appears to be moving more slowly as he moves with unbelievable speed. Calamity saw Scrowl begin walking towards him, but the next moment they vanished. Pain ruptures through Calamity as Scrowl attacks with such speed that he couldn’t be tracked. Quickly being reduced to a motionless lump of muscle, Calamity is forced to change strategy. Countless mouths formed over its body as it radiated a faint light. Screams erupt from all its mouths, producing a horrendous orchestra that is further amplified from multiple instances of ‘Sound Manipulation’. Scrowl is thrown off by the unexpected vocal attack, causing him to falter momentarily. Layering on the attack, the pale light surrounding Calamity suddenly became blinding. Scrowl is forced to shut his eyes, causing his defences to drop. Opening his eyes, Scrowl couldn’t find Calamity and an instant later, he was launched upward by an attack to his underside. Spiralling wildly in the air, he briefly sees something flying for him. Creating a spirit wolf above him, he boosts off it midair, plummeting down upon his attacker. His sight refocuses, allowing him to see what he landed on.

“Omori? No, that isn’t Omori, but this thing isn’t…” he thought while looking at an abnormal bat with red eyes. Looming behind him was Calamity with its slashers at the ready, but he noticed far too late. All over his body, tentacles constrict him as Calamity wails on him with its claws and slashers.  Scrowl struggles to break free from its hold but eventually manages to do so. His wounds no longer healed as he turned to face Calamity, who noticeably had no bat characteristics. Scrowl launches off the ground while boosting his speed with spirit wolves, intending to kill the flightless Calamity as his claws radiate light.

Darting forward, Scrowl appears before Calamity, throwing his claws down upon its head with all his might. Just as his claws began slicing flesh, Calamity shrank. Having avoided the lethal blow, Calamity quickly regrew, uppercutting Scrowl’s chin. The force of the blow threw Scrowl upwards. He quickly exploded several spirit wolves above him, rocketing down for Calamity. Breaking through tentacles and slashers, he arrives within striking distance. It was a clear shot; he would’ve killed Calamity, but he hesitated. This hesitation wasn’t an aversion to murder but rather from seeing Wost’s body strung up in Calamity’s mouth. If Scrowl delivered the strike, he would tear Calamity and his subordinates’ corpses apart. Curling its toes, Calamity punches Scrowl in the head, sending him flying across the battlefield. Lying on the ground, he felt himself weaken as ‘Divine Boost Lv. 2’ deactivated after reaching its three-minute limit. Weakly standing, he watches Calamity charge towards him, trampling the bat corpse. Jolting into motion, it wrapped around and absorbed into Calamity, causing it to regain bat characteristics.

“Sh-should I use … ‘Ultimate Art: Spirit Ascension’? No, if I do… my presence would disintegrate my subordinates’ corpses. But if I don’t survive, who will continue the prophecy?” contemplates Scrowl as he slowly stands. His blurred vision causes him to look beyond Calamity, into the woods, where he spots someone. Stumbling through the woods was a high wolf called Beowl, who had an injured hind leg. The survival of his subordinate lit a new goal within, to ensure Beowl survived. Trotting forward, Scrowl heads for the woods to get them into range of ‘Holy Howl Lv. 3’ to heal him. Opposing his advance was Calamity, determined to rip Scrowl limb from limb.

The following work of fiction is a prequel story to the Tower of Exile. This work is not nessecary information for the original series but the added knowledge can change your perspective on events that occur in the main work. Each part of this volume occurs in the same continuity but can be enjoyed in any order for the most part.

Floating within a dimension of its own creation is an ancient tower that was accidentally created due to the actions of individuals from a once-magical world. This tower mysteriously "invites" the souls of the living to its door located within the "Cavern of Arrival" a vast place filled with magical creatures. Experience the stories of those forever changed by the influence of the tower in an unforgiving story where every action may lead to ruin.

Due to the nature of this website requiring me to split each chapter rather awkwardly into separate parts, I've decided to stop posting future parts here. The story will be accessible elsewhere under the same username, so to my two subscribers out there, if you need help accessing new content don't be afraid to contact me via discord ShadNya
