The Prophet stood in prayer beside the stone, raising his hands beneath the mountain sky. “O Allah,” he said, “You are the One who made the heavens and the earth submit to You. If this stone, without heart or mind, trembles in fear of Your fire and melts in love for You — what of us, who forget You while blessed with soul and speech?”
The stone glowed faintly, as if touched by unseen light. The Prophet was reminded of the hadith: “Everything glorifies Allah, but you do not understand their tasbih” (Qur’an 17:44). Even the mountains know their Lord. He continued, “Ya Rahman, soften our hearts like You softened this stone. Make our tears fall not only from fear of punishment, but from yearning to be near You.” At that moment, the clouds gathered, and light rain fell — as if the sky wept too in remembrance of Allah.
