The instructor moved with such speed, it seemed as though a blur had flown straight for Snow. Snow only had time to move his arms into a blocking position.
But the punch thrown at him was far too powerful and wasn't direct either, coming from under him.
launching Snow all the way up to the ceiling, shattering the stone above, the bones in his arms vibrated from the attack.
“Damm it, what the hell.”
Falling down wasn't something Snow could afford to do; he would be open to almost any form of attack that way. Instead, using the moment from his body ricocheting off the stone ceiling, he planted his feet to the ankles into the stone, suspending himself from the ceiling.
There was no sign of the instructor.
“Hes toying with me…”
Snow was like a mouse getting ready to be pounced on by a cat, he couldn't watch every corner of this room for a blur of motion. That meant the realm he could let his senses reach was just a few feet around him.
Cutting off his train of thought, a shadow swept behind him from his right, and a tap on his shoulder came from his left.
Sweeping his left arm back, Snow swung at nothing.
“Damm it!, my body reacted on its own.”
Seeing the instructor appear fully in his peripheral vision. Snow ripped his right foot from the ceiling, launching large chunks of shrapnel directly toward the instructor.
But this attack would fall short because as the instructions cooked his fist back, the dust from the ceiling and hurling debris pulled toward him.
Snow's eyes winded in realization, “ He’s a wind element user!!”
Before Snow could rip out his other foot, the instructor launched his fist forward at nothing, and force like building slammed into Snow , shattering a few ribs and launching him him all the way to the wall behind him, tearing the ceiling above in a straight line and catastrophicly destroying the wall behind with Snow 's body and the wind.
Snow coughed blood. And his body twisted awkwardly in multiple directions from the various points of pain throughout his body, he had never been hit so hard in his life.
The body could adapt to pain but that took repetition, and Snow didn't have that this was his first real awakened fight.
That attack was clearly held back or else Snow would’ve had more than a few shattered
Ribs.
Snow was falling to the ground, chucks of the ceiling and wall falling around him too. Coalescing a small flame in his Right hand he burned himself on the side,
The burning pain opposite to the force induced pain helped shake his mind from shock. He didn't have time to gawk at how much stuff to hurt. This fight was more of a test and right now Snow was failing.
He hadn't made any kind of display of his prowess in the art of combat. Really he had none, fighting a machine could never replicate fighting another person. But he had to use what knew.
Making the flame his right bigger and Coalescing a ball of water in his left, Snow brought the two together, and a cloud of Steam smoke Bursted out all around him, creating a smoke screen.
There was about 10 seconds before Snow hit the ground and maybe another five once he landed before another attack came.
That's all the time he had to come up with a counter attack.
(9 seconds )
Making another flame appear, this time in his left hand and much bigger than before. (8 seconds )
(7 seconds) He began pulling chunks of the flame apart and forming them into small arrow heads. ( 6 seconds)
Snow hadn't neglected his element ablittys, it was the opposite; he was far more advanced with them than his muse.
(5 seconds) Since they could be used without a gamble on his life. (4 seconds) Rotating his body so he could land on his feet, (3 seconds) Snow braced himself to hit the ground. (1 second)
Shattering the ground as he landed he coughed up more blood, while making sure not to lose focus of his floating flame arrow heads.
Not wasting any time. Snow dashed forwards planning to use the remaining 5 seconds he predicted to counter attack. He had seen the instructor reappear in the middle of the hall a few moments before while he was falling, so Snow knew where to head towards.
The arrow heads were behind his back away from view. The instructor didn't move as Snow dashed towards him, likely planning to assess Snow 's attack.
“Good…, stay right there.”
Once snow was close he changed position sliding on his back to sweep the legs of the instructor, following suit the instructor jumped to to evade his sweep.
Using that moment snow turned his back, and let the arrow heads fly towards the instructor. Snow couldn't keep a large amount of destructive force inside the arrow heads that required to precise of essences control.
So he decided to craft them as weakly as possible, so that when he lunched them he could pack them with as much energy as he could. This is what made them as powerful as they were.
Moving as fast, a blur even to
Snow, the arrow heads closed with the instructor lunching up to the ceiling in a giant explosion… or so he thought.
“Your better than expected kid”
Hearing the voice from behind snow tried to react but was too slow. Kicking him where his ribs were broken, the instructor grabbed Snow by the neck lifting him up.
“Youve shown good mental fortitude, reaction speed, prediction skills and element control.. But you're missing something. Something vital, physical essence control. I haven’t seen you use spiritual essence to enhance your body once. Using it on the elements is relatively simple, but the body… That takes practice.”
He was right. And snow had a reason for this, it was simply too hard for him to fully control right now. And the drawbacks didn't outweigh the rewards. Spiritual essence wasn't just some mystical force. It's inherent to an awakens being.
The manifestation of your spirit flowing through and out of your self.
Using it to enhance your body gives you even more strength and speed reaching up to 10 fold. But if you didn't have good enough control over it and its flow, you could easily shatter every bone and rupture every organ in your body.
“Ugh.. I…must've… forgot to use it…”
Struggling against the strength of the instructor. Snow smiled awkwardly and pulled his left leg back filling it with essence and kicked the instructor In the sternum with enough force that it sent them both flying opposite to each other.
Snow ricocheted off the ground a few times before his body came to a stop. His leg was broken not too badly but broken nonetheless.
“Ugh… that was stupid”
“Quite., but I found it amusing”
Shifting and bringing up his arms to block snow braced for an attack. But none came.
“We’re finished kid I’m done fighting you, ugh… goodness gracious I’m glad that parts over hehe. You displayed about a c level of physical essence control soooooo… you pass yayayayayay”
The entire mood had changed just like that, the man was clapping in celebration. Snow was dumbfounded, still holding his hands up to block. Realizing the man had said he passed, snow collapsed with a sigh spreading his arms out.
“ oh but one other thing, there isssss a penalty for late students sooooo.”
Looking up at the man coldly snow replied
“What.”
“Oh you that that was the penalty?, gosh no we can’t beat up students for being late silly , hehe. No no the penalties are much more fun than that… so Snowfall what’s the most embarrassing thing about you there is?”
“Your joking right.”
The instructor smiled
“far from it”
This was beyond insane, maybe Snow had made the wrong call coming here. But what could he do now? He doubted instructors could tell personal information about the students to anyone so… what the hell, it was better than getting pummeled again.
“Fine.”
Hiding his face behind his hair. Snow replied
“Ugh—umm—well i guess when i was a kid, i—uh— liked to collect cat ear headbands…”
After Snow told his embarrassing truth. He heard a chuckle that slowly erupted into a cackling laugh.
“Yea yea whatever”
But the laugh was starting to be a little louder than it was supposed to. And as snow began to realize what was happening his eyes widened in horror, because the walls began to sink into the floor revealing rows of seated students,
all laughing at the top of their lungs.
