While Song Qingge faced off against Wei Yaozu, Yao Huizhong arrived back at his house with Feng Wenling in tow.
“Shizun, before we begin our discussion, shall I brew us some tea?” Feng Wenling asked.
Yao Huizhong obviously accepted her offer, and by the time Song Qingge and Wei Yaozu arrived at the Disciplinary Hall, the tea had been prepared and served.
Yao Huizhong took a long sip before setting his cup down to speak.
“A-Feng, thank you for the tea. As for what I wanted to discuss, it's about A-Wei’s injury…” Yao Huizhong looked down a bit sheepishly as he trailed off.
“Shizun, were you going to ask if I could reach out to my father for a potential cure?”
Yao Huizhong shot her an apologetic look. “A-Feng, I don’t wish to trouble you with this, but your father’s medical knowledge is unparalleled… if anyone knew of a cure, it would be him…”
“But if it would be too much trouble for you, this Master understands….”
Feng Wenling gave him a forgiving smile before replying.
“Shizun, although my relationship with Sect Leader Feng isn’t very good, this disciple will still do her best to help my Junior.”
Yao Huizhong still gave her an apologetic look along with his thanks.
“Shizun, is that all you wanted to discuss? If so, this disciple will take her leave now and contact Sect Leader Feng-”
“Ah, wait a moment, A-Feng. I actually wanted to ask you if you noticed anything strange going on between A-Wei and A-Song.” Yao Huizhong asked earnestly. He really wanted to know all the juicy details about the relationship between his two youngest disciples!
But while her Master was under the impression that there was a budding romance beginning, Feng Wenling had some other ideas.
She had noticed that Song Qingge had been acting differently ever since she had woken up from her coma, but she had given a fairly reasonable explanation, and since the changes were generally positive, Feng Wenling had decided to just keep an eye on her for now.
She had initially assumed Song Qingge’s and Wei Yaozu’s suddenly close relationship had formed because they were both close in age, but when Wei Yaozu’s internal injury had been revealed, she had noticed the shared look between her two Juniors, which made her a bit wary.
Did Song Qingge know more about his injury than she had let on?
“Shizun, to be honest, I have noticed that Song Shimei and Wei Shidi have suddenly become quite close, despite their argument earlier, Song Shimei was still very concerned about his injury…”
Maybe Song Shimei knows what caused him to be injured…? Or maybe… she was the one who caused it?!
While Feng Wenling’s thoughts spiraled through potential theories, Yao Huizhong had become quite excited.
It seems like my theory was correct! There’s really something going on between those two!
“I see… A-Feng, since Song Shimei seems to trust you, do you mind keeping an eye on them for me?” Yao Huizhong asked, doing his best to keep up appearances as a respectable Master despite his excitement.
Feng Wenling was snapped out of her thoughts and immediately agreed.
“Yes, Shizun, this Disciple will watch over them carefully and report back to you if anything happens!”
Shizun is very wise, he immediately knew something was up with the two… I'll have to carry out this mission carefully and report back to him if I find anything suspicious!
“Good, then you can go, A-Feng. Make sure to inform me of any developments!”
Feng Wenling nodded seriously and headed out on her reconnaissance mission, and Yao Huizhong watched her leave with satisfaction.
A-Feng is such a smart girl! She knows me the best and promised to report back with all the juicy gossip~ I can't wait to hear it~

As Feng Wenling set off to follow her Master’s orders, Song Qingge’s hand was starting to cramp.
She had only completed twenty-five of the required three hundred copies but she already felt like she was about to die from boredom.
She sneakily glanced to the front of the hall, where Xuan Yi was sitting like a high school teacher monitoring detention. The two of them locked eyes, and Song Qingge quickly looked away and continued making copies.
She heard Xuan Yi let out an annoyed scoff, but luckily he didn’t assign her any more work.
But after completing another 20 copies, she really couldn’t bear the silence any longer and turned to whisper to Wei Yaozu.
“Psst, Wei Shidi, how many copies have you finished?”
Wei Yaozu, not wanting to get into any more trouble, simply ignored her.
Xuan Yi from across the room: “Song Qingge! Be quiet or I’ll assign you another hundred copies!”
Song Qingge quickly sat up straight again and got back to work for about another five minutes before her mind began to wander again.
Rather than dutifully copying the sect rules, she had begun concocting her next scheme to get Luo Jie to fall for Wei Yaozu.
Before they had left the bamboo grove, their Master had ordered her Shixiong to run a hundred laps around the mountain. By the time they would finish the three hundred copies, Luo Jie should be finishing too, right…? What if they all just happened to bump into each other on the way back to Zhuzi Peak?
A satisfied smile spread across Song Qingge’s face, which was immediately noticed by Xuan Yi.
“Song Qingge, what are you smiling about?” He quickly moved over to inspect Song Qingge's work, and what he saw immediately filled him with rage.
Not only were Song Qingge’s copies covered with strange doodles, her calligraphy was completely illegible!
“What are all these incomprehensible scribbles?! You actually dare to mess around at a time like this?!”
“Start again from the beginning, and I’m assigning you an extra hundred copies for wasting paper!”
Song Qingge felt a bit wronged, it wasn’t her fault her copies looked like crap, she was from modern times! How could she be expected to be good at ancient calligraphy!
…But she could only swallow her pride and start again.
