Chapter 17: A Kiss

Chapter 17: A Kiss

Mar 25, 2026

Their mouths clashed with a breathy desire, and Kyle felt himself melt into the soft lips of the vampire sitting in his lap. He gently stuck his tongue out, nudging the vampire's lips open as he deepened their kiss.

Their tongues danced together, soft and warm as Eryk wrapped his arms around Kyle's shoulders and pulled him closer still. He clasped his legs together, squeezing the werewolf tighter, not wanting any space between them at all. Eryk heard Kyle's heart pounding loudly in his ears, a sound that boomed in time with the beat of his own.

The taste of his own blood on Eryk's tongue sent shivers down Kyle's spine as the metallic flavour coated his tongue. The vampire moaned softly and the sound seemed to cut loose any restraint Kyle had.

He turned to the side, cradling Eryk's head as he set him down on the ground and leaned into him, not once breaking the kiss as he rubbed his hips against Eryk. The vampire tightly wrapped his legs around Kyle's waist as they kissed, wanting to be closer to him even as they lay tangled in each other's arms.

Kyle broke the kiss, trailing soft kisses down the vampire's neck as Eryk gasped, trying to catch his breath. He buried his nose in Eryk's neck and tried to gain a semblance of control. The werewolf couldn't help but feel like he was treading in dangerous territory, unsure of if he would be able to hold himself back. His every sense was on fire, vibrating with an electrifying energy that sent his soul shaking.

Eryk grabbed hold of his face and pulled him close again, “Don't stop.”

“Kiss me more—” Eryk said.

Kyle obliged, his lips crashing into Eryk's before he could finish speaking. The sensation was softer this time and Kyle kissed him slower and deeper, wanting to focus on every single sensation as their mouths moved together. With each touch of their lips it felt like Kyle's whole entire being was teetering on a knifes edge. Each moment feeling electric in a way that he had never felt before.

He slipped his hand under Eryk's shirt, eliciting a gasp from the vampire as he lightly ran his fingers over his waist. His hands slowly inched higher reaching towards the vampire's chest, when suddenly the chains pulled taut and his hands jerked back. He grunted in frustration before grabbing hold of Eryk's waist and pulling him closer, placing the vampire's hips on his lap as he leaned over him again.

The soft curve of Eryk's bottom rested on top of Kyle, and as the werewolf pulled him closer he relished in the warmth of their entwined bodies. Eryk wanted to be closer still, to have nothing between the two of them, and tugged at the waistband of Kyle's pants in annoyance. The werewolf grunted and grabbed hold of Eryk's hand and lifted it up to his lips, playfully nipping at his fingers.

“You really don't want to do that here.” Kyle said, even as he too felt the need to discard their clothes.

If we're going to do that, it won't be in a dirty old dungeon, Kyle thought, all the while feeling himself about to lose his mind.

Kyle kissed him again, more hungrily this time, as his frustration over the chains had him tightly squeezing Eryk's waist and trying to pull him closer, even as they were flush against each other. The vampire's waist seemed to be begging for his touch, fitting perfectly in Kyle's hands as he held Eryk close.

I could get lost in him forever, Kyle thought.

Eryk reached down again and gently stroked his hand down the contours of Kyle's abs, slowly touching the soft skin that was so hot to the touch. His pointed nails lightly scraped across the werewolf's skin, trailing goosebumps in their wake as Kyle shivered from the touch. The werewolf grabbed hold of his hands again, pulling them tight against Eryk's sides as he bit down on the vampire's bottom lip.

“Oh gods, Eryk.” Kyle grunted, barely able to catch his breath as his whole body tingled, “Are you trying to kill me?”

Eryk pouted and pulled his hands away, “This isn't enough.” He said softly, his lilting voice sending shivers down Kyle's spine.

“I want you to be even closer to you, wrapped in your arms with nothing but air between us.” He whispered.

“Huh? Can't we do that?” Eryk asked, his maroon eyes wide, as he pleaded with Kyle.

The werewolf clasped his hand over the vampire's mouth, knowing that if he heard any more, he would immediately give in to his own urges. He rapidly shook his head, trying to remind himself that he really should not do it with Eryk in a place like this.

“Not here. Not now.” Kyle said, even as everything in him wanted nothing more than to bend to Eryk's every wish.

Eryk frowned at him but didn't say anything else, instead just closing his eyes as he tried to catch his breath. Kyle sighed, glad that he was able to hold himself back despite his every instinct telling him to let loose and take the vampire right then and there.

“Kyle.” Eryk gasped.

“Yeah?”

“Does kissing always feel this good?” He asked, his face hidden behind his hands.

The vampire felt like his every nerve ending was on fire and his mind was in a daze. Eryk's heart was stumbling around his chest like a drunkard as he tried to get a rein on his emotions. He blushed deeply as Kyle gently stroked his waist and sat back, pulling Eryk upright with him.

“No, actually.” Kyle said, “I don't think I have ever felt this with anyone else before.”

Eryk rested his head on Kyle's shoulder and rubbed his thumb over the small puncture wounds on the werewolf's neck. He slowly felt his heart start to beat at a normal rate again and then reached down to the silver chains on the ground.

“Do you think you can do it now?” Kyle asked, hopeful.

“I'll try.” Eryk said.

“No way...” Kyle said.

They both looked down at the shackles now on the floor. The silver had been ripped apart, broken pieces glinting in the low light. Eryk didn't completely understand how it had worked this time, wondering why Heinrich had ever been so set on him killing someone, when he could have gained his vampire powers with just a little blood. He had never been a vampire in the sense all the others were, so why had his father been so insistent on going by the traditional vampire turning method without ever trying anything else?

Could it have something to do with his desire to create his own version of the original Vampir? Eryk thought, feeling so confused about the way everything had turned out, Somehow this feels all to easy and it's making me nervous.

“I can't believe it actually worked.” Eryk said, his light lilting voice breathy with excitement even as he felt nervousness tear through him.

No, don't overthink it, Eryk. You've finally helped Kyle, this is a good thing, everything else doesn't matter, He tried to convince himself, pushing the nervous feeling to the back of his mind.

Kyle felt giddy and pulled Eryk into his arms, hugging the vampire tight to his chest as he let out a quiet laugh. The vampire seemed to fit perfectly against him, like a missing puzzle piece. Eryk tilted his face into the crook of Kyle's neck and smiled up at the werewolf. He thought that Kyle was so much taller than he had expected, standing a whole head above Eryk as they embraced.

The vampire's maroon eyes sparkled as he squeezed his arms tighter around Kyle, returning the embrace fiercely. The werewolf felt a slight burst of pain as the hug agitated his wound, but he didn't care and pulled Eryk closer still.

The two stood like that for a moment before Kyle finally let go. As he stretched out his limbs for the first time after having been confined for days, Kyle felt his strength returning to him in full force. Confused, he flexed his fingers and hopped from foot to foot to be certain, before turning to Eryk with a huge grin.

“It faded.” He breathed, as he excitedly stretched and slowly jogged around the dungeon.

He stood in front of a crumbling piece of wall and picked up a piece of stone, crushing it to dust in his hands as he turned to face Eryk.

“Faded?” Eryk asked, confused. “What faded?”

“The spell! That stupid witch's spell faded.” Kyle laughed and grabbed hold of Eryk's hand, spinning the beautiful vampire around.

Eryk couldn't help but giggle along with the werewolf, the sound bright and airy as it echoed around the freezing dungeon.

“I think the silver must have enhanced its effects, since the spell faded as soon as you removed the shackles.” Kyle said as he pulled Eryk into his arms once again.

“So you're okay?” The vampire asked, his breath tickling Kyle's chin.

“Yeah,” Kyle nodded, “I feel great. A bit hungry but gods, is it good to have my strength back.”

“As soon as this wound heals, I'll be back in top shape.” Kyle said, as he lightly rubbed the makeshift bandages running across his torso.

Eryk nodded, holding tight to the werewolf as he let out a breath of relief. He hadn't realised just how much the witch's spell had bothered him until Kyle was finally free of it. The thought of escaping while the werewolf was barely strong enough to defend himself had scared Eryk more than he could bear to admit.

“We can finally get out of here.” Kyle said, grinning as he leaned his head against Eryk's.

We, Eryk thought, he said we.

“Yeah.” He replied, “Finally.”

It all seemed so surreal to Eryk, who had always wanted to be free of this gods forsaken place but never had the courage to try and leave.

Eryk felt like his life was finally about to be his.

Less than an hour later they were both ready to set their escape plan into action. With Kyle back at full strength it should be easier than they had initially thought. Another wave of relief flushed over him as Kyle felt like he might actually be able to see his pack again.

“Are you ready?” Kyle asked, bleeding from a fresh new bite wound on his neck.

The blood ran down his chest and across his torso, a gentle crimson river meandering slowly between the contours of his abs.

“Yes.” Eryk nodded, with Kyle's blood covering his mouth and dripping all the way down his neck.

Kyle slumped against the wall, his free hands hidden behind his back as he slowed his breathing down to the bare minimum. They had removed the bandages over Kyle's wound, not wanting to leave anything that might seem suspicious. He looked to be dead, and from across the large empty dungeon, no vampire would be able to hear his heartbeat until they came down the stairs.

And by then it'd be too late, Eryk thought.

He wrung his hands together, rapidly shaking them to be rid of his nerves. This first part was on him alone, and the whole plan hinged on its success. Not only would this be his first time engaging in any type of physical altercation, Eryk would also be using his newfound strength against someone for the first time. He felt a bit sick to the stomach at the thought.

Eryk walked to the top of the stairs of the dungeon and pressed on the buzzer beside the door.

It was time to be free.
