Luka usually woke up after 7. He usually rolled over in bed, dealt with his morning wood, then showered before having a quick breakfast and heading out to work. That was Luka's usual Monday morning.
This Monday morning, however, did not start off like usual.
Luka woke up around 6 to a large, heavy body pressed against his back, radiating a nostalgic heat and stopping him from rolling over. Someone else's morning wood greeted him from behind. Luka could tell from the fine black hairs on the muscular arm wrapped around him and the rhythmic snoring in his ear that Xander had crawled into his bed last night.
His initial shock was quickly replaced by curious amusement. Luka was sure it was an accident; he didn't think Xander was the type to sneak into an unsuspecting person’s bed intentionally. But still, he wanted to hear what the man had to say for himself.
Shifting around slowly, Luka checked to make sure he was still wearing underwear. He was.
He managed to slip out from under Xander's arm without waking him. Turning around, he perched himself up on his elbow and observed the uninvited man sleeping in his bed. Still as handsome as ever. With his long black lashes and neatly trimmed brows, Luka wondered if Xander trimmed them himself or if he got them shaped at a barbershop. The mole right next to his mouth always drew Luka's attention to Xander's thin lips, and how kissable they were.
Luka curled his own lips into a smile as he took a mental photo of Xander's sleeping face. It had been years since he last saw it, after all.
After enjoying the view a little longer, Luka gently placed his hand on Xander's shoulder and attempted to wake him up.
“Xander,” he whispered softly in a welcoming voice.
The snoring stopped but Xander did not stir.
“Xander,” Luka repeated.
With a groggy groan and a rub of his face, Xander eventually opened his eyes and stared up at Luka. Still in a daze, he smiled.
“Morning,” he greeted happily.
“Morning,” Luka greeted back with a calm smile. “Why are you in my bed?”
“What?” Xander asked.
Then, like a punch to the face, Xander's eyes shot open and his face dropped when he realised where he was. He sprung up like a springboard and panicked.
“Shit! Fuck! S-Sorry, I-I was asleep last night,” Xander rambled as he untangled himself from the duvet. “I must have come in by accident—”
‘You can come in me any day,’ Luka thought to himself, but chose not to say the words out loud—although he really wanted to.
“I’m so sorry!” Freeing himself from the covers, Xander hastily scurried out of Luka's bed and towards the door. He was in such a rush that he almost tripped over his own two feet.
“It's fine, you're probably just not used to sleeping in the other room yet,” Luka said while resting his head back down on his pillow. “Just don't do it again, alright?”
‘Or at least wake me up so we can have a good time,’ Luka thought, but once again resisted the urge to speak his mind.
Xander glanced over his shoulder back at Luka, his embarrassment covering his face and ears in a red hue.
“Right. Again, I'm sorry,” Xander repeated.
Then, almost hitting himself with the door, Xander exited Luka's bedroom and scuttled back to his room.
A chuckle escaped Luka's lips as he thought about how ridiculous the whole situation had been. He couldn’t be mad at Xander when the man was so flustered about waking up next to him.
‘I mean, we didn't even fuck this time,’ Luka thought to himself.
He rolled over to the spot on his bed where Xander's warmth lingered, the combined smell of his natural odour and Luka's shampoo now faint on the bedsheets. It was a reminder that Luka needed to wash his bedding this week. It was also a reminder of the way his bed used to smell after Xander would spend the night with him in the past.
Luka hummed to himself as he basked in the memories, before continuing with his usual Monday morning routine.
