EXT. VENICE — GRAND CANAL DISTRICT — NIGHT
Italy at night glows gold and blue—lamps reflecting across the water, gondolas drifting—
Then the reflections move wrong.
Water rises into the air like glass sheets.
People freeze mid-step.
The five stand together on the stone bridge:
Liam. Luke. Tyler. Pele. Kate.
The air turns cold.
A figure phases out of a bell tower wall, feet never touching stone.
PHANTOM.
Featureless, pale, edges flickering like smoke caught in moonlight.
PHANTOM
Echoing, calm
Five heroes.
One city.
So many doors.
PHANTOM STRIKES FIRST — THROUGH OTHERS
Phantom raises a hand.
Three civilians suddenly snap upright.
Their eyes glow white.
They move in perfect sync.
KATE
He’s using hosts—don’t strike them!
Luke freezes, fists clenched.
LUKE
Then how do we fight him?!
Phantom smiles.
THE CITY TURNS HOSTILE
Buildings bend inward.
Walls stretch.
A church bell rings without being touched.
Tyler slams the ground—green energy spreads, anchoring the bridge.
TYLER
He’s not taking this place from us!
Pele steps forward—fire coiling low and controlled.
PELE
Good.
Then we take back the space.
TEAM FORMATION
Kate lifts both hands—wind and water spiral outward, pushing civilians back, separating them from Phantom’s influence.
KATE
Liam—he exists between moments.
You pause moments.
Liam exhales.
Northern Lights flicker violently.
LIAM
Element Limbo… steady.
Fire fragments.
Ice shards.
Lightning arcs.
Water droplets.
All suspended.
PHANTOM COUNTERS
Phantom vanishes—
—and reappears inside a building.
The wall bulges outward like something breathing.
A civilian screams as Phantom tries to exit through them.
Luke rushes forward, planting himself between Phantom and the host.
LUKE
You want a body?
Luke spreads his arms.
LUKE (CONT.)
Take mine.
Phantom hesitates.
For the first time.
THE OPENING
PHANTOM
You’d give yourself so easily?
LUKE
No.
Luke stomps—yellow energy locks the ground, stabilizing the space.
LUKE (CONT.)
I’d choose.
Tyler launches forward, green energy wrapping Luke like armor.
TYLER
And we don’t fight alone.
LIAM VS PHANTOM
Phantom turns toward Liam.
They hover face-to-face.
PHANTOM
You interrupt reality.
But can you interrupt me?
Phantom phases into Liam—
Pain explodes.
Liam screams.
The elements around him go wild.
Then—
Stillness.
LIAM
(gritting teeth)
You can’t possess what isn’t finished forming.
Element Limbo collapses inward.
Phantom is forced out, screeching like tearing air.
THE SEAL
Pele snaps her fingers—fire forms a containment ring.
Kate compresses it with wind and water.
Tyler and Luke slam their hands down together.
ALL FOUR
NOW!
Liam thrusts both hands forward.
LIAM
ELEMENT LIMBO—
CITY PAUSE.
For one heartbeat—
Venice stops.
Phantom is trapped between phases.
He thrashes.
Fails.
PHANTOM RETREATS
The seal cracks.
Phantom laughs.
PHANTOM
This city remembers you now.
The Phantom Man hovers above the street, coat and form rippling like smoke in water.
Cars tremble. Streetlights bend toward him.
KATE
(shouting)
We need to seal him in a permanent body!
Liam stops running.
Turns.
Eyes sharp.
LIAM
I’ve got an idea.
He sprints off.
HOLDING THE LINE
Pele, Kate, and Tyler rush Phantom.
Phantom flicks his wrist—
A car SCREAMS across the street.
Kate spins—wind cushions her landing.
Pele vaults, fire blasting her clear.
Tyler doesn’t dodge.
He punches the phantom man.
Tyler grins.
TYLER
Finally—
that felt good, getting a hit in.
Phantom slams into a building, cracking the stone.
He rises slowly, irritated now.
PHANTOM ASCENDS
Phantom raises both hands.
The ground lets go of him.
He levitates higher, arms spread wide, voice echoing everywhere.
PHANTOM
You delay the inevitable.
Shadows stretch unnaturally long.
Kate grimaces.
KATE
Liam—now would be great!
THE INTERRUPTION
A beam of Northern Light slices through the night.
Phantom turns—
And sees Liam standing on a rooftop, exhausted, glowing faintly.
In his hands—
A big size, teddy bear.
Button eye missing.
Stitching loose.
Silent.
REALIZATION
Phantom freezes.
His voice cracks for the first time.
PHANTOM
…What.
Liam breathes hard, Element Limbo humming around the bear.
LIAM
You need a body to stay.
The teddy bear begins to float, surrounded by suspended elements.
LIAM (CONT.)
No pulse.
No mind.
No door.
Phantom’s calm shatters.
PHANTOM
No—
NO.
I will not be put in a teddy bear.
PHANTOM PANICS
Phantom dives—
Possession attempt.
He phases through Pele—fails.
Through Kate—fails.
Through Tyler—fails.
Tyler braces, green energy locking his stance.
TYLER
Not today, ghost-boy.
Kate thrusts her hands forward—wind pins Phantom in place.
Pele snaps her fingers—fire forms a tightening ring.
THE SEALING
Liam raises the teddy bear.
LIAM
Element Limbo—
Permanent State.
The teddy bear opens—not physically, but spiritually.
A vacuum pulls at Phantom.
PHANTOM
(screaming, echoing)
THIS ISN’T A BODY—
LIAM
Exactly.
Northern Lights flare blindingly.
Phantom is dragged, distorted, compressed—
—and SLAMS into the teddy bear.
The bear drops into Liam’s hands.
Still.
Quiet.
AFTERMATH
The city breathes again.
Cars settle.
Lights stabilize.
Water returns to normal.
Liam collapses to one knee, clutching the bear.
Kate rushes to him.
LUKE
…It worked.
The teddy bear’s button eye glows faint white.
Once.
Then fades.
Pele exhales.
PELE
He’s sealed.
Tyler stares.
TYLER
We just saved Italy…
with a teddy bear.
FINAL IMAGE
Liam looks down at the teddy bear.
Quiet.
Harmless.
Too quiet.
