Chapter 3: The Aftermath and the Pizza

 By the end of the day, my nerves had stolen my appetite. Eloah tried to get me to eat, but I refused until she practically forced a piece of cake on me.

She talked about her fears, her relationship, and how Oliver had been with her before. In this house, everything is shared, even the men.

The bell rang one last time. A drunk man. I was afraid, but he was respectful. He just wanted to talk. He told me about his marriage, his wife, his life. He was melancholic. When he left, he gave me a good tip and told me I was intelligent.

It's strange—sometimes they pay for your body, but they stay for your ears.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Tony returned. He paid us all and told us that on Fridays, we all eat together. A family. Of sorts.

I went home and immediately stepped into the shower, washing the Emporium off my skin. I'm writing this now while I wait for the pizza I ordered.

I hope working there will be a good experience. I hope I can survive Fernanda.
