I arrived early this morning, suitcase in one hand, toothbrush in the other.

The house worked only half a day because it was Mariah's big day. Everyone went to her graduation celebration. I didn't go. I stayed behind to do what I do best when the sadness hits: listen to sad songs and cry.

I'm not jealous of Mariah; I'm genuinely happy she escaped. But I feel... stuck. I remember passing a university once and crying because I knew I'd probably never step foot inside one as a student.

When I told Tony, he just shrugged. "A degree guarantees nothing," he said. "The grass always seems greener elsewhere."

Tony was clearly excited about me moving in. Bianca told me that while I was busy, he went upstairs to look through my things and came down smiling. He even asked her if we were in a relationship.

When he asked me directly later, I just gave him a vague smile. "Not yet," I whispered.

Keep them wanting more. That's the rule, right?
