I stared at the door of the room the human came back to enter after he bolted out of the room in embarrassment, muttering under his breath.
Cute, it I'm being honest.
The way he flares up like a porcupine when irritated, kinda makes me want to rile him up even more.
I chuckled as I remember how red his neck became when he found himself on top of me because of the pull of the tether and how even redder it became when I pointed out his erection.
Makes me wonder how red his face and neck can be and do other places turn read as well?
Ah questions, questions yet no answers in sight.
My train of thought came to a screeching halt as he stepped out of the bathroom.
Water droplets trailed down his body down to the waistline of his shorts and I followed it with my eyes.
The shorts he wore clung to his damp skin, faint steam fanned his body.
He was not muscular, yet not thin… just him, just right.
My gaze lingered for far too long, tracing lines I shouldn't have, noticing the way the shorts hugged his skin.
How his skin gleamed after the shower.
How his lips and the under of his eyes gained a pink-ish tint.
How perfect he looks.
He didn't seem to notice my fervent gaze, his attention on drying his silky, slightly curly black hair.
Something I want to run my fingers through
"Can you stop staring?, I can feel your gaze burn holes on my skin"
My attention snapped back from my fantasies and I felt honestly creeped out at myself.
I lifted my gaze to his face, his head was turned from me and a mini towel covered his face but from a small side that wasn't covered I could peak that his face was beet red.
I shook my head to clear the thoughts from my head and stood up from the bed, making my way to the bathroom.
"Oh please you are lucky enough to feel my gaze upon you but if you do enjoy it just tell me, I can stare longer" I said with a smirk and then winked at him.
I noticed him flaring up, ready to retort but I stopped him "Save it for later, I desperately need a wash"
I waltz into the bathroom expecting some sort of resemblance to my time, humans in hell weren't really excited to talk about the places to do their business.
I was completely dumbstruck, slightly annoyed if I might add.
I went in ready to test out the new features of this timeline only to be soak thoroughly by an over head fake rain spraying hose thing.
How very white.
I stepped out of the space enclosed in a what I assumed to be glass. Out in the open I resisted my urge to inspect, to question. Here I can tinker.
I tapped it, dragged my nails across it. A smile on my face.
I ran back into the enclosed space to grab some water, still pouring if I might add -I don't know how to turn it off-
I splashed it on the glass and chuckled in glee
"What are you doing?" I jumped and let out a screeching scream as I slipped, but was caught in the embrace of another, the human of course.
I pushed myself off him in an instant "I apologize I am unfamiliar with the equipments you lot use in this era"
"Oh, you should have just asked me for help"
"It crossed my mind" I said grabbing my locks "But decided not to, if you don't mind I need some privacy" I said as I gently shooed him from the bathroom.
"Ah okay" He stamared "Just-"
Slam
I slammed the door cutting him short, embarrassment creeping up my face "Goddamit, urghhhhhh"
I hope he didn't see me playing with the glass like a little kid.
That'll be even more bloody embarrassing.
Noah's POV
I stood facing the closed bathroom, my mind blank.
Once I snapped out of it a laugh threatened to burst through my lips.
He was clearly embarrassed. Of what though?
I walked away from the bathroom door in a daze, thinking. Unknowingly finding myself at the balcony.
The evening breeze blowing from every angle, calming my nerves. The distant neon lights of the city highlighting the evening.
Stars, abiet little, decorating the sky.
The trees dancing with the wind,
And someone watching me from the street below
I could clearly make out the silhouette of a person, feel their gaze on my skin.
Hot and intense.
They seemed to notice me staring and started to walk away.
Just then I heard Kael beside me "What are you looking at?"
I jumped in fright and turned to face him, my heart still pounding from the fright.
"Why did you sneak up on me like that?! You almost gave me a stroke!" I squeezed trying to stabilise my erratic heart beat.
He sneered and my ignored my question "What were you staring at?"
I rolled my eyes at him "It was just -just a…"
My mind was blank. I couldn't remember.
I looked outside scanning the surroundings not knowing what or who I'm looking for
"What is it? You're scaring me" Kael said as he grabbed my shoulder moving my attention to him.
"I can't remember"
"What?"
" I can't remember what I saw"

Quite an ending O_o

Noah is broke, exhausted, and one bad decision away from losing everything.
Accidentally binding himself to a three-hundred-year-old demon wasn’t part of the plan.
Kael is ancient, sharp-tongued, and deeply unimpressed with modern life. Being tethered to a human is inconvenient. Being unable to break the pact is worse.
But when memories begin slipping and a silent presence starts watching from the shadows their uneasy partnership turns into a fight for survival.
With a tether binding them together and trauma's cold hand on their shoulder, these two see and survive situations they rather not repeat.
This is slow-burn BL urban fantasy with psychological thriller elements, supernatural tension, and morally gray choices.
