The next day after the incident, a rumour spread throughout the whole village that a young girl was found crying in the rain alone in the deepest part of the village. No one knew the name of the girl nor why she was alone there. And so two years past.
Two years later, in Palma's private tent.
"Are you not inerested in making friends anymore, Palma? You used to be so excited to wander around the village." A female worker asked.
"I think I'm more interested in the books Father bought me." The girl answered. She tilted her head as she gave a faint grin. No one except her knew what had happened that day.
"I see." She replied. She smiled blissfully as she was happy for her master's new hobby.
Still smiling, she bent forward to pick up a sock fallen from the pile of clothes when someone came through the tent entrance. They strolled in so confidently that she almost mistook the person for a rude worker.
"You're still here, Yona?" The intruder asked. Their tone was flat and indifferent as if they didn't care who they were speaking to.
"L...Lady Nepella!?" Yona shrieked. She immediately took a step away.
Nepella frowned as she scolded. "You're as noisy as usual. Keep in mind that I will not tolerate anyone who talks comfortably with me just because they serve my daughter."
She glanced down at the basket of clothes beside her feet. Her tone didn't change when she then suggested. "It'll rain soon. If you want to do the laundry, It would be wise of you to do it quickly."
"Y... Yes! Ma'am!" Yona stuttered. She grabbed the sock that was still lying on the ground, shoved it in the pile of clothes, and dashed out of the tent holding the basket in her hands.
