Elina lays in the bed staring at the off white ceiling the lights from the city outside cast shadows of the blinds against the wall and the orange hue from the living room light bathes one side of her face as Neto sits on the sofa reading a book.
Elina turns her head to him and he lifts his chin to meet her eyes.
She snarls and in response he grins.
"May I help you?" He smiles
She rolls her eyes. "Yeah, why are you here?"
He looks back down to his book and flips a page. "Why didn't you find a wisp and feed it to another wisp."
She sits up. "I didn't have the time."
He closes his boo his attitude suddenly becoming serious.
She sits straighter as he leans an elbow on the armchair. "You were going to ask her questions, weren't you?" He leans his chin into his hand grinning. "I know you Elina, you had no intention of calling me."
She snarls. "No. I did not Neto." She frowns. "You never tell me anything." She places a hand to her chest. "You haven't told me what you think I am."
He slowly stands up then meticoulsy strolls across the room to her. "I've said it before." His eyes glimmer as they meet hers. "I don't know what you are." He sits beside her on the bed.
She meets his eyes. "But you have theories."
He stares at her for a moment then pushes a strand of lose hair behind her ear.
The feeling of gloved hands brushing her cheek makes her shiver although she has become accustomed to these small gestures and pushes the feeling aside.
"I have a theory." He sighs placing his hands in his lap
"Then tell me."
He sighs then pulls out his gun. "I don't want to jump the gun." He says spinning it. "But I suspect you are a child of an Iris and a human." He taps a foot on the floor and puts his gun away. "I just don't know how, for Irises can not have children."
She pulls in a small inhale then turns away.
Neto continues. "The implications and possibilities of what you can do will be interesting." He smiles then winks yet Elina has no interest as she is only left with more questions then answers.
What if everything you saw was different from everyone else...
Elina never had a very normal life. As a child she could see shadows that followed her and clung to her. As an adult she could see beings that controlled these shadows.
Henry always had a normal life. he never had to worry about shadows or beings that controlled them. That was until he met Elina, a girl who lived in the same apartment complex as him. Now all he sees is shadows and Elina's friend who goes by the name of Neto.
Now the two must uncover the truth of just who they are and where they got these strange powers from.
