Gobby’s Adventure (Psychological Dark Fantasy)

End of Act One

End of Act One

Mar 20, 2026

I spent a long time reflecting on where I want to take this project next. The first act was necessary both for the story and for me as an author – it allowed the world to take shape, its rules to become clear, and its tone to settle.

At some point, I stepped away from that and started listening to how this should be written, what should work better, what would be “stronger”. Because of that, the first eleven episodes were rewritten multiple times, and each version moved further away from what this story was at the beginning. At some point, I realized I no longer recognized it.

So I stopped and returned to the original version – the one that existed at the start. This text is built on that version. This is the version I am continuing from.

I am not trying to make this story easier to accept or to convince anyone to love this world the way I do. I only ask that it is taken as it is. I am creating the Gobby’s Adventure universe as I see it. If I am not here at some point and someone like me finds it, that will be enough.

The first eleven episodes of Gobby’s Adventure form a single act. Its purpose was not to accelerate the plot, but to let the world be felt – its density, its inertia, and the consequences of each choice, revealed through actions, reactions, and mistakes rather than explanation. This stage defines how the world is entered, how its rhythm is adjusted, and how its rules are understood.

Going through this was not optional – it is what fixed the form of the story and how it has to be told.

Gobby’s Adventure is intended for readers who prefer to examine structure and understand processes, for those drawn to harsh narratives with violence, fear, and irreversible consequences, where humor does not soften the edges but shifts into dry irony or sarcasm.

If reading continues beyond this point, it means that what matters to me also matters to you – not only what happens, but why it happens in this particular way, paying attention to connections, noticing subtle shifts, and recognizing the moment when a choice becomes a point of no return.

The project will continue to evolve, but its focus will remain the same. The story does not rely on magic as a universal explanation – what matters are the conditions under which change happens, their limitations, and the price attached to them.

Beginning with Episode Twelve, the narrative deliberately changes its mode – the story does not expand outward, it deepens.

Gobby’s Adventure is a story about real heroes.
Not perfect ones. Not shining ones.
The kind who look heavier the stronger they become.

If you’re looking for something darker and more grounded, stay.
