Why are we visiting the Chief? The girl thought. She couldn't think of a valid reason why they had come to see the Chief. Completely absorbed in her thoughts, she hadn't realised she was lagging behind.
"What are you doing? Make haste, Palma." Nepella instructed her.
"Yes, mother." She replied. As if she was triggered by instinct, she scurried to her mother's side.
Finally, they entered the tent.
The girl glanced around the room nervously as this was her first time entering the Chief's tent. To her surprise, the tent was large and long, but it had very little lighting.
Not knowing what to do, the girl followed her mother to the centre of the tent. She barely imitated as she kneeled down on one knee.
Am i doing this correctly? She thought anxiously. The girl couldn't help but fidget as she was not taught this kind of etiquette in the past.
Despite this, the girl instantly froze when she heard the voice of the Chief.
"You have come, Nepella." He said. His voice was unexpectedly soft as well as strong, filling the room completely.
"Yes, father. It is me Nepella." She relied.
The girl discreetly glanced at the vail like curtain in front of her. She could only see his shadow as the lit candles dimly shone behind him.
