How would you feel if your parents, who loved you, glitched out of reality? How will you feel if you are about to forget your own parents in 10 hours? How will they feel? This is Episode 6: The Message In The Machine of my original anime project.
[ Scene 1: Hikari's parents' house ] - Time: (Present) 2:40 pm
Akari is sitting on the chair, wondering.
Hikari: "Hey, Hey Akari! From Earth to Akari" shouts in his ears "AKARI!!"
Akari falls with the chair, pulling a picture of Hikari's family: "Aw, what?!"
The frame slips from Akari's hand. When it hits the floor, a hairline crack crawls across the glass — splitting Hikari's image from her parents.
Hikari: "Hey! You broke that picture!"
Akari: "It's your fault for shouting in my ears!"
Hikari: "You zoned out. Did you solve this hint?"
Akari: "Oh.. It's clear..type HikariILU."
Hikari: "What? Is it that simple? What does it mean anyway?"
Akari: "Oh. In "Hello, Kari", if you take the "H" and put it beside "kari" with an "i", it will be "Hikari". It makes sense since it's your parents. Anyway, if you tried writing the numbers "8965632" on the computer's keyboard, it would look like a "3". Many people used to use the sign "<3" to symbolize a heart before emojis existed. So the password means that he loves you. And if you take the first letters of the sentence "I Love You," it will be "ILU""
Akari gets to the computer and starts typing the password. The computer opens.
Akari, while moving the mouse, clicks on the "File Explorer": "So let's see what we have here..."
Akari finds a Word written on it " notes, date: 1/6/2025" he opens the Word while saying: "I think I found something useful!.." looking around him "Hikari?..wait..what was her second name?" he stays silent for a moment thinking, then he realizes something "wait..whoever disappeared..I got a theory..wait where is Hikari?" then he starts worrying, and panicking.
Akari shouts: "HIKARI!"
Then he starts seeing everything around him in black and white vision, starts trembling, feeling that he is almost losing his mental stability, but interrupts him, suddenly he hears a sound of sobbing from a nearby room, his expressions fade, and he rushes to the room to find Hikari covering herself in a white blanket: "oh, Hikari-chan, you are here"
He goes and sits on the bed beside her: "Hikari. Crying won't bring them back. If you want them back, you need to solve this case. Crying will just waste our time. We have 9 hours before midnight, and we will probably start forgetting even before it."
Hikari shouts: "You don't understand how I feel since you don't have parents!..oh" then she goes silent for a moment, realizing what she said.
Akari's face goes pale. He stands up: 'I. I will be in the living room reading your father's notes."
Hikari: "S.sorry..I.I didn't mean to mention that topic..."
Akari: "I. It's fine. You are technically right anyway."
Then he leaves the room with a pale face.
Hikari regretting what she did: "What the hell did I do?! He came to calm me down. I just shouted at him, mentioning the most sensitive topic for him?!"
[ Scene 2: In the living room ] - Time: (Present) 3:00 pm
Akari is sitting in front of the computer with a serious expression.
Akari: "What the heck?!"
The Word is empty pages.
Hikari appears behind him, standing while keeping her distance: "He wrote it with white font color."
Akari selects everything in the world, then text appears with a blue background. He changes the color to black.
"1/6/2025
I noticed something weird going on where my pen moved alone without any logical cause, maybe I was hallucinating?
2/6/2025
No, I wasn't! Before I slept last night, I was sure I closed the TV. I woke up and found it on! Also, my small note was placed somewhere else.
3/6/2025
I believe there is some Other World, I am going to call it "The Forgotten Leftovers," where forgotten stuff goes by the universe. The universe cleans up. My proof is that I went to meet my friend, but he glitched out in front of me.
4/6/2025
I believe that the universe removes our memories about those people who glitch out, and it all happens at midnight, since I don't remember having a friend.
I made a small experiment on a zebrafish by separating it from its pears, and after about 10 hours, it glitched out of existence, which means anyone who gets forgotten the universe sends him to the Other World.
5/6/2025
I think if it was like that, my friend wouldn't have glitched out of reality though, so I have a theory since I couldn't remember my friend's second name before he glitched that it's about the second name, not your first name."
Akari whispers to himself, "That's my exact theory."
Akari stands up.
Hikari: "What are you planning to do?"
Akari: "I believe that there is a way to get them back, but we need to visit the library first for some books."
Akari leaves, heading to a nearby library, while Hikari follows him, still keeping her distance.
[ Scene 3: At home ] - Time: 1:00 am (Past)
Kenji was drinking coffee with Kaito while Daichi left.
Kenji: "So.. how can you go back to the 'Remembered World'?"
Kaito: "What?"
Kenji: "You said there is a way, right?"
Kaito: "Yes, I did, but..." walking toward Akari's bedroom, staring at Akari sleeping, "...won't it be fun watching the detective solve the case?"
Kenji: "What? Why don't you just tell us the way to go back?"
Kaito: "Chill. If the way was that easy, I wouldn't still be here, you know?"
Kenji: "What are we going to do then?"
Kaito: "Just watch the detective solve the case."
after credits...
[ Scene 4: Hikari's parents' home ] - Time: (Present) 5:00 pm
Akari left the computer on. The mouse scrolls down from its own to show a continuation of the dairy
"6/6/2025
I discovered a way to summon people from the Other World, but it's so dangerous that it may lead to DEATH!"
