Hopeful Hero

A Mistake

A Mistake

Mar 24, 2026

It's raining outside, on a cold spring day. Inside the church, an 11 year old girl named Hope, with red hair and blue eyes, is dressed in an oversized outfit that she always wears. Her wearable is a ribbon permently tied around her neck. Ribbon has a mind of it's own, but they never let anyone know of it. She's sitting on her bed, staring out and thinking about what she's been called. Like, "Her name is Hope? Seriously? She's more like Hopeless! She has no chance in life without at least a bit of magic!" Or "I thought mine was bad.. she has it worse.. I'm glad I'm not her." And the other kids tell her that if she was ever adopted, they'd probably just abandoned her right away. A boy came over, his name is Lionel, and he has dark red hair and brown eyes. His wearable is red gloves, and he can control fire. He's 13. And two girls followed with him, too. They're twins. One is named Lily, and she has purple hair and lilac eyes. She's always wearing a dress. Her wearable is a bracelet, and she can control plants. Her sister is named Peoria, and her hair color is light green while her eyes are pink. Her wearable is a necklace, and she controls water. She likes wearing a simple shirt and a skirt. They're both 12. But Hope doesn't like them very much. They bully her every day since her wearable is a ribbon, and she doesn't have magic. Lionel lit a flame in his hand and says, "I wonder if I burn your ribbon, would you get a new wearable and finally get magic, or not and stay the same?" That hit her the hardest. Ribbon is her only friend! She held her ribbon and ran out of the church. Lionel tried following her but stopped as soon as Hope ran into the crimson forest, and Lionel kept staring even after Hope was out of sight. One of the twins had informed one of the priestess that Hope ran into the crimson forest, and the priestess's got them back inside. One of the priestess's left to inform a knight. While worry was going on around Lionel, he lifted his hand and stared at it, wondering if he finally went to far.. and only the twins noticed that Leonel started crying. with Hope, she's still running through the crimson forest unbeknownst to her, a figure is watching and following her from behind the trees.

a world where wearables, an unremovable item on their body, is the key to their magic, and young girl with a red ribbon on her neck running into the crimson forest with a dark creature watching her, who is friendly? with a world full of magic and hero's and her with none, will she find out what her magic is and what she really is.

from Midlight, I'm a beginner so, please point out mistakes, give advice, and theories. I love theories and I might use some theories if I'm blocked and don't know what to do next, or if I just love the idea. but enjoy!
