“Doyunie, I made you breakfast and lunch for later. Since the lunch is still warm, I left it on the kitchen island with the breakfast to cool off; please put it away once it is cool. And make sure to finish breakfast. I have to go, so unfortunately, I cannot stay with you to eat.” Changmin instructed. He stood outside the open front door, waiting for Doyun’s response.
“Okay, have fun training the newbies.” Doyun happily waved, quickly closing the door.
“You'd better eat!” Changmin yelled as the door closed in his face.
Doyun’s smile dropped as he walked into the kitchen. He stood by the kitchen island, looking at his breakfast on a plate, then the container that held his lunch. He also glanced at the utensils left near the food, almost holding back a sigh. Running his hand through his hair, he picked up the utensil and quickly dug in. But after a few bits, Doyun sighed, no longer wanting to eat. “It is no fun when I am eating by myself,” Doyun complained out loud.
Doyun had an eating problem. Besides forgetting to eat due to work, he also did not feel hungry when eating alone. The problem started after his parents died. And it was not due to trauma, nor because he had brutally seen his parents’ dead bodies. It is because of his older brother. His brother used to make him food and eat with him. Every time, it filled him with warmth. He remembered quickly coming home from school to eat his brother’s cooking.
“And now, it leaves me with emptiness.” Doyun played with his food. He glared at it, wondering if he should secretly throw it away. But every time he did, Changmin would always find out and ‘cry’ about it. Doyun almost clicked his tongue, but stopped himself and glared harder at the food like it was the one creating problems. “I guess I will eat it.” He forcefully wolfed down the food. After he finished, he dropped the plate in the sink and grabbed a drink from the refrigerator. With the drink in hand, he entered the living area, sat on the couch, and turned on the TV to a random channel.
Doyun pulled out his phone with one hand, unlocking it, while his other hand held the drink as he took a sip from it. He unlocked his phone and started scrolling through social media. Hunters covered his feed since he followed many; he also followed other companies because of his job, but the hunters always took over. Doyun kept scrolling through posts, sipping his drink, and using the TV as background noise until he passed by a post about Jin-Sang and Yongsun.
Someone made a short video of them sparring. As Doyun watched their bodies move throughout the video, he bit his lip, his face turning red. Damn. He thought. Forget sparring, Doyun’s mind returned to how they fucked him like they were fighting. The hands holding him roughly, the thrusting turning him breathless, and how they held him in place to use his mouth.
He crossed his legs, feeling himself growing hard from the memories. Ah, why do I keep acting like this? It is not like he is a blushing virgin. He may have never had penetrative sex, but he has done other things with people. But then again, it wasn’t exciting, and he always ended up flaccid because they didn’t fit his type. Ever since he knew, he loved the unconventional, crazy types. That is why he loves his older brother the most, and still does even after what happened. And why he fell for Jin-Sang and Yongsun in the first place.
Jin-Sang and Yongsun never fit the normal sense of thinking. They were wild, eccentric, and played to their own tune. Doyun learned about them four years ago because they were popular hunters, especially since they were number one and number two. Even though he was looking for a PR job (he finished university faster than others since he took college classes in high school) that worked with hunters, he barely paid attention to hunters. So, when he first started learning about them, they did not catch his attention. But when he got the job at the Serpent Guild (with the help of his best friend) and learned more about Jin-Sang and Yongsun, his first thought was, ‘Ah, these hunters are crazy.’ And then his heart started beating faster as his second thought became, ‘I think I am in love.’
Ever since then, his emotions continued to grow and never fell, and even though he knew he would never have a chance with a married couple, he couldn’t stop how he felt. Now, he doesn’t know what to think. His dream finally came true, and he got to sleep with them, but he knew it would never happen again.
He was at the right place at the right time, but it was most likely only once. If he did get the chance to sleep with them again, would he? “I don’t know.” Doyun really doesn’t. It would be amazing to sleep with them again, but it would make him hope for something more. He didn’t want to be a booty call, but someone in an actual relationship with them. “If only.” Doyun sighed. It is a pipe dream.
He sank more into the couch, finally scrolling past the post to forget about his somber thoughts.
But who knew that one night would change everything for him?

Lyfin District, Forest
Changmin made it to the training Gate with five new hunters trailing behind him. He stopped at the table in front of the Gate and noticed that it was empty. Clicking his tongue, Changmin felt like filing a complaint with the Divisions. “Where is that bastard?” He pulled out his phone, getting ready to call the Division worker they hired to figure out where he was, when one of the newbies called him.
“Hunter Sa, do we enter the Gate now?” Eo Hyun-Shik asked.
“Why would you enter without any information about the dungeon?” Changmin did not have time to explain anything to the new hunters since he arrived at the Guild late. He could only take them and quickly bring them to the Gate. He planned to explain the dungeon before entering the Gate.
“Then, should we stop Jin-Ho?” Hyun-Shik pointed at Jin-Ho running to the Gate while the other three watched with unsure expressions.
“These fucking kids.” Changmin cursed. The new hunters were only 18 and graduated from the Hunter Academy early. They took them in because the kids seemed promising, but it seemed they had zero brains. Changmin chased after Jin-Ho, stopping her before she could enter the Gate. He quickly caught her, grabbing her arm and pulling her back, “What do you think you are doing!”
“What, it is only a Level Two, why should we wait and listen to information when we are strong enough to fight it?” Jin-Ho arrogantly explained.
“Are you an idiot? The academy only lets you kids practice with a Level One, so you have never been in a Level Two. And it is stupid to enter a Gate that you know nothing about. Are you trying to get yourself killed? If you do something stupid like this again, then you are out.”
Jin-Ho clicked her tongue and pulled her arm out of Changmin’s now loose grip. She crossed her arms, looking away with a glare. The other newbies came over, and when Changmin turned to talk to them, Jin-Ho, seeing that Changmin no longer paid attention to her, touched the Gate.
The Gate glowed a sky blue mixed with black, and once Jin-Ho touched it, the surrounding mana condensed and burned brightly before turning a bright red. The area started to shake as the mana device on Changmin’s arm started blaring with warnings.
Warning! Warning! Dungeon Break!
“Get back!” Changmin grabbed Jin-Ho, pulling her with him as he told the others to step back. He glanced at his mana watch, seeing the numbers climbing as it blinked red with warning signs continuously popping up. What is happening? How did a Level Two turn into a dungeon break?
Two grey arms slightly covered in fur came out while the claws curled. A wolf-looking head, with deep red eyes, popped out after with a howl. The howl froze the newbies in place as they trembled. The sound caused fear to take over. Changmin was the only one unaffected as he pulled out a sword, standing in front of the newbies.
The monster finally landed on the ground, standing straight as it peered down at the hunters. The monster was an A-level Lycan.
“Human, you think you can fight me? How funny.” It laughed; the voice was deep and rough, causing the surroundings to rumble with each word spoken. Lycans are intelligent creatures that can talk, and not only are they intelligent, but they are also hard to kill. They had speed, heightened senses, durable bodies, regeneration, and immense strength on their side.
And before Changmin could speak or do anything, the Lycan spoke once more. “But I don’t have time to deal with you, weak humans. Become food for my children instead.” The Lycan howled. Once the howl sounded, silver wolves started rushing out of the Gate. The Lycan quickly left, leaving the wolves to deal with the hunters. Changmin wanted to rush after the Lycan, but couldn’t since he had to stay with the newbies. He could not, in good conscience, leave the newbies alone with the wolves.
While holding onto his sword, Changmin flicked his wrist, freezing most of the wolves, holding them in place. “Don’t stand there. You want to be hunters, then fight.” He told the newbies who still trembled in fear because of the Lycan.
Jin-Ho was the first to break out of the trance and punched the frozen wolves, breaking them apart. It caused the other newbies to jump into action. Changmin did not give them any more thought as he started cutting through the wolves still coming out of the Gate. At this rate, they will be overrun, and he still has to think about the Lycan, who is most likely the dungeon boss, on the loose.
“Call Captain.” He yelled at his watch.
When the Captain answered the call, Changmin instantly said, “There is a Lycan on the loose in the Lyfin district.”
