Wolf leveling

The Inter Class Competition Begins Now

The Inter Class Competition Begins Now

Apr 05, 2026

Back at the academy, sunlight spilled across the training yard like liquid gold, warming stone and skin alike. Omega, Hex, Kazeem, and Jennifer stood together in a loose circle, bruised but grinning after another grueling spar. Their bodies ached in that satisfying way that promised growth, and their spirits burned brighter than ever.

Hex wiped the sweat from his brow, his breathing still labored. "Why do you train so hard, Omega?" he asked, genuine curiosity coloring his tone. "Are you not content with F-class? Most would have given up by now. They'd have accepted their place."

Omega tightened his grip on his dagger, feeling the familiar weight settle in his palm. Its edge caught the light and threw it back like a challenge, a promise written in steel.

"F-class isn't giving me what I want," he said, his voice steady and resolute, each word deliberate. "I need better equipment, better strength. The faster I grow, the sooner I'll be able to save my sister." His jaw clenched. "Every day I waste is another day she sleeps. Another day stolen from her life."

Jennifer shifted her weight, arms folded across her chest. Her expression carried that familiar half-mocking edge, but something softer flickered in her eyes—concern she'd never admit aloud.

"You mean that beauty sleep sickness?" she said, her tone carefully casual. "Look, I know you hate the families, but if you want to be important—or save her—you'll have to bow your head to them sooner or later. That's just how this world works. It's not fair, but it's real."

Hex's eyes widened, surprise washing over his features before settling into something gentler. "Wait… your sister has that sickness too?" His voice dropped, losing its usual confidence. "I… I'm sorry. I never knew." He hesitated, then asked the question that clearly troubled him. "But tell me, Omega—is it even treatable? I've never heard of anyone waking up from it. Not once. Not in all the records."

Omega's eyes blazed with fierce determination, a fire that refused to be extinguished by doubt or despair. His entire body seemed to straighten, as if the question itself had given him new strength.

"My sister will be the first," he declared, his voice ringing with absolute conviction that left no room for argument.

He stood abruptly, the conversation clearly over, and began practicing the techniques Mr. Norway had drilled into them. His dagger cut through the air with sharp, relentless strikes, each movement precise and purposeful. The blade sang its own song of determination. The others watched in silence, moved by the raw intensity of his resolve, by the way he transformed pain into power.

---

"Iron Break—focus your power at the joints, the weak points," Mr. Norway called, his voice booming across the yard like thunder rolling over mountains. "Don't waste strength on thick hide. Find the vulnerability, exploit it without mercy. That's how you survive."

Omega's blade clashed against the beast-hide dummy, sparks flying as he searched for the opening Norway described. His muscles burned with the familiar fire of exertion, but he pushed through the pain, welcomed it even.

"Pulse Step—move like the rhythm of a drum," Norway continued, demonstrating the footwork with surprising grace for a man of his considerable size. His feet barely seemed to touch the ground. "Make the beast misjudge your distance, then strike where it least expects. Predictability is death."

Omega's feet shifted light and fast, mimicking the pattern. Each strike grew sharper than the last, more confident. Sweat ran into his eyes, stinging and blurring his vision, but he didn't slow. He couldn't afford to. Sarah's sleeping face haunted every pause, drove every movement.

"Severance Flow—link your attacks," Norway said, approval warming his gruff voice. "Don't stop at one strike. Let the movement carry you forward, like water breaking through rock. Relentless. Inevitable."

Omega's body twisted, his daggers flowing in a perfect chain of motion. Breath ragged, chest heaving, eyes ablaze with single-minded focus, he continued—each strike an echo of his determination, each movement a promise to his sleeping sister. The world narrowed to blade and target, breath and strike.

Norway watched quietly from the sideline, arms folded across his broad chest, his weathered face thoughtful. He murmured to himself, words meant for no one else, "Determination itself… is a technique. With it, he'll climb higher than most." His expression darkened slightly. "But without an ability… that is a weight he may never shed. The world is cruel to those born without gifts. Always has been."

His gaze drifted to Hex, whose movements were effortless, each strike enhanced by the natural grace of family-born power. "That one—skilled, talented, and carrying the blood of a family… there will be no stopping him," Norway murmured, though his tone held more observation than envy. It was simply the way of things.

Omega's thoughts were sharp, like his dagger's edge, cutting through doubt and fatigue: *I need to be ready for the families. I need to reach their level, surpass it if I can. If I want to save Sarah… I must have the power to keep the crystals I earn. I must grow strong enough to make my own rules, to stand on equal ground with those born to privilege.* His grip tightened until his knuckles went white. *No one will stand in my way. Not anymore.*

He swung harder, faster, cutting the air with a sound like breaking chains. Days blurred into nights in an endless cycle of training. The training yard became a battlefield, sweat its only currency, pain its teacher. Each technique drilled, broken down, rebuilt stronger. His hands bled, calluses forming over calluses. His muscles screamed in protest, but he welcomed the pain as proof of progress, as evidence that he was changing, evolving.

Kazeem often joined him in the early mornings, their silent companionship speaking volumes. Jennifer would appear at odd hours, offering critique disguised as mockery. Hex pushed him during sparring sessions, never holding back, respecting him enough to give his all. Together, they forged themselves into something stronger.

And then, at last, the day came.

Banners unfurled across the academy, snapping in the wind like battle standards announcing war. Students filled the stands, their voices rising in a storm of excitement and wagers. The air crackled with anticipation, thick with the promise of glory and defeat, of reputations made and broken. The Inter-Class Ranking Competition for first-years had arrived, and with it, opportunity.

Omega stood with Hex, Kazeem, and Jennifer at the edge of the field, the four of them a unit now. Their bruises had faded, but their hunger had only sharpened, honed to a razor's edge. Each wore their determination like armor, invisible but unbreakable.

The announcer's voice thundered through the arena, amplified by crystal magic until it seemed to shake the very foundations.

"Welcome, students! The Inter-Class Competition begins now!"

The roar of the crowd shook the walls, a living thing that surged and crashed like ocean waves against cliffs. Omega's grip on his dagger tightened, knuckles white with tension and readiness. His heart hammered against his ribs.

*This is it,* he thought, breathing deep to steady himself. *No more training. No more preparation. Time to prove myself. Time to show them all that an F-class student can rise, can compete, can win.* Aria's face flashed in his mind, peaceful in her endless sleep. *For Aria. For myself. For everyone who said I couldn't. For everyone who's ever been told they weren't enough.*

He stepped forward, and the competition began.

In a world where humans coexist with monsters, ancient powers, and mysterious systems, Omega is just an ordinary boy—until a chance encounter with a dungeon and a mysterious system awakens his hidden potential. What begins as a struggle to survive against low-rank beasts quickly escalates into battles against high-ranking monsters that push his body, mind, and instincts beyond human limits.

Forced to confront his inner beast, Omega awakens a terrifying werewolf power, devouring enemies to grow stronger. Along the way, he meets allies like Woody, a talking beast with human-like intelligence, and faces enemies who lurk in the shadows, manipulating his fate from afar.

Meanwhile, forces from other worlds, like the vampire planet Noctara, watch him carefully—some hoping to control him, others fearing the strength he may one day wield. As Omega trains, evolves, and fights, he uncovers hidden truths about his own bloodline, the system that guides him, and the mysterious powers shaping the world around him.

Survival is only the beginning. To protect those he loves, claim his true strength, and uncover the secrets of the system, Omega must rise above human limits, master the beast within, and face challenges that could make—or break—him as a warrior, a hero, and perhaps something entirely new.
