I try to breathe,
The air’s scarce
And all my touch finds,
Is thick, broken glass
Pricking, scathing
My flesh that sits on the outside
How long can I go
Before these scorches consume me
Bite away at what’s left of my sanity
I wonder if I deserve this
For sins uncommitted
Or ones that came undone
With the mark of new life
& left in their wake,
A blood-thirsty spite
