As the trio walked away from the office a royal lieutenant walked past and bumped into them. "Move out of my way you filthy mercs." The officer snickered as he walked past followed by two soldiers.

 The receptionist guided them back to the main area in silence, then shouts and the sound of hurried boots rushed across the trenches outside the reception. 

Instinctively, the trio rushed out of the building. A group of orcs along with a towering brute wielding a double-sided battle ax broke through and got into the trench. In front of them a group of soldiers were in formation preventing the orcs from advancing through swords and a wide range of magic. Despite their efforts, the brute was still plowing through waves of soldiers as if they were nothing.

 Adam turns to Vic - already preparing her daggers - and said "clear the path for me and Trevor. We'll deal with the brute. You go help them." With that he pointed to the soldiers who were keeping the orc soldiers at bay. Victoria nodded and hurried over to them, coating her daggers with her explosion magic.

She threw them towards the horde and caused an explosion. It created a path allowing Trevor and Azam to rush through the horde -still groggy and maimed from the attack - to reach the brute. 

The brute towered over both of them wielding his ax which glistened in the sunlight. Suddenly he struck...
