There is my unpleasant firstborn, stamping their feet and being disrespectful, I’m sure he’s running to the gardens at this moment; It’s where he hides like a little brat. Unfortunately, I can see he resembles me, when I was young and foolish the thoughts of happiness and love could cross my mind, but this gives you no  power, much less fortune.  

The worst was the king’s attitude, who is so soft with all his children, and that made them impolite and with no  posture for the palace. And he has the audacity to try to silence me in front of that spoiled boy. It’s been months of exchanging letters with King William. They have no idea on how much sacrifice I'm making for the Kingdom. With the unification and his army, I will guide us to glory; there will be no one who does no fear us, and no one to destroy us.  

“How could you speak to me like that!  You must impose this obligation in the name of the kingdom” I only give a sideways glance at the King, who looks terrible. How pathetic and weak he is. 

“I cannot do that to my son, even if costs our alliance”   

I cannot believe I’m hearing this. How could he put the needs of this castle below the wishes of that brat.  

“You can, and you will! Don’t let that drama make you forget what is important. King Willian and his daughter will arrive soon” 

“We aren’t ready to meet them, Bartolomeu Isn’t going to show up even at the presentation meeting” 

“So put him in his place! Otherwise, I will” Before going to my room, I fixed my gaze on him, trying my best to hold the face of a good wife. But it's too hard. “When you married me, you promised me the world. Now you act like a coward. I'm so ashamed of you!”

In the drawer of my dresser there is a false bottom where I keep my diary, and that is the only place where I can write about all my contempt for this family. These pages know me more than anyone, the choices I have to make, even about the illegal practices with toxic plants once used in potions. Some years ago, with my influence, I got my hands on these forbidden books. They tell about the most dangerous herbs on earth. In time, I was able to craft some interesting things for the moments that lie ahead. Nothing will stand in my way; Not my useless husband, nor that stupid kid.
