Guys what Nao means by “then why even confess” is that if Souta’s feelings are so easy to ignore/get rid of/weren’t that serious, there was no point in confessing in the first place if he can go back so easily on his words and pretend nothing happened. He’s telling Souta to own his feelings and implying that he himself can’t pretend nothing happened.
